The fact is that the perks you see as outlandish were largely put in place by management (politicians). They did not want voters to complain about percentage raises, losing them votes, so they used different incentives to make up for the raises. I am sorry if you did not negotiate your contract with your employer better. Maybe you should have joined a union if you were not satisfied with your compensation. As for the comments about stress, monkey business, etc., I will give you the same challenge I gave DeSouza...Follow me around for one week. I work Full-Time as a Firefighter/Paramedic, part-time as a paramedic, and another part-time job. Mind you, I am not complaining, just want to give you some perspective. Then I'll follow you around for a week (I don't know what you do, could be interesting). Then we can present our stories to the Vindicator. Bert wasn't interested, are you?
I can't believe it! You mean a pittbull attacked someone for no reason causing serious injuries? They are such gentle dogs, you never hear anything like this.
I don't know what they pay for their benefits, I don't dispute that our town is managed better than most. However, these people have some nads. They give the very people that make them look good 1.5% under the auspices of "times are tough", then give themselves 5%? As a city resident, I couldn't pick any of them but the mayor out of a lineup, but I see the "worker bees" out in the streets all of the time. Great cops, good Fire Dept (they'll be great when we get true EMS), great road dept etc. I don't know Frazzini personally, but he's the only one getting my vote next time around! If Skrobola wants to see someone go above and beyond, he should check out the real workers on a regular day.
I'm pretty sure posession of any part of a falcon or other raptors without a proper license carries a stiff penalty. Probably moreso than killing puppies. Prosecutor should check that angle and get this dude off the street for a little while.
Aren't these guys a little old to be in a frat? What is wrong with a 32 year old "initiating" a college freshman like this? Sounds like we may have some real manhood compensation issues.
Drone-Do you think the quality of life is better in Japan or Korea? That's nuts! They pollute more, they abuse their workers more, they artificially manipulate their economies to weaken the dollar, they ignore trade laws, the list goes on and on. I'm not saying that the American Corporations are gleaming examples, but in terms of quality, quality of life, and social and environmental responsibility, there is no competition. That's nice of toyota to add 400 jobs. The fact is, however, that if not another foriegn car sold in the US, we would still need "X" amount of vehicles...AMERICAN vehicles. BTW-manufacturers are learning that cheap labor leads to cheap parts. Ford, GM, and Chrysler have brought manufacturing jobs back to the states from other countries because they could not get the quality they get from AMERICA.
The profits from the sale of your vehicle go to corporations and countries that do not have your best interest at heart. Heck, they don't even have their own people's best interest at heart. If you weren't buying Kias, those people would still be building cars, but American cars. Hayden-Buy Ford, that's what I do.
When you go to rent a car and they give you anything foreign, tell them "NO". If Anyone who shows up at your house to do work, from the cable guy to the snow plow and anything in between is driving foreign vehicles, send them on their way and tell them why. I had Jehova's witnesses show up at my house in a Toyota. I Told them I don't care about their religion, just get that piece of crap out of my driveway. If we don't buy foreign cars, they won't sell them!
I remember when this was first in the news, I told my wife he'd be back to kill her. Wow, wish I was wrong. Predators need to be locked up forever. They don't stop, and there is no cure.
