This is a joke. The school should not be moved. I went to Mooney, and the Cardinal Mooney alumni I have talked to do not want the school moved. This is simply the work of a few of the rich boosters/alumni who want it moved. The enrollment is only estimated to go up 150 students. Is that worth building a new school? what's wrong with the school that's there now? Renovate it, and if you want to expand, work out a deal with the city to level more dilapidated houses around the current campus. As far as crime? There is no crime at the Mooney and Ursuline campuses. That's already been proven. Check the crime stats. Personally, this is move is racially motivated so Tommy and Suzie don't have to go to school in "the inner city". From the Mooney alumni I've spoke with, they will not be giving dime one to this campaign. Looks as if Bruno, DeBartolo-York, Muransky, et al, will be footing the bill for this mostly themselves. They sold a bill of goods to the Bishop, who had no choice but to agree to the move, with stipulations. Sadly to say, money talks in the Church.
