RYO Filling Station in Girard is looking for a miracle

Zz3, I am unfamiliar with this apology, was it aired on TV or did they just speak of it?

RYO Filling Station in Girard is looking for a miracle

To those saying a pack of cigarettes should be $100 and good for the government for passing this, let me see if I ha e this straight. They tax the tobacco and the tubes, you pay to use the machine and pay tax on that, now they want to tax you for a finished product as well? That's like going to Lowes or home depot, buying supplies to fix something yourself and having to pay a labor rate as well. Absolutely absurd. But its okay to have a dozen kids, get food stamps that I pay for, have a better cell phone than me, buy steaks, smoke pot, get drunk and live off the system....makes perfect sense to me. Yes, smoking is bad for you, but so is eating McDonald's/Burger king, sitting in front of a computer all day, diesel engines....you name it, life is hazardous. The leading cause of death is birth....if you're never born you can't die!!! This article is about a small business being run out by corporate tobacco and the politicians being bought by big tobacco. I thought this was a government by the people FOR the people, not against us...

Navy SEAL from Boardman accidentally shoots himself

Something doesn't add up. If he was pronounced dead, why then place him on life support? This man was a Navy SEAL....yet he didn't know how to properly clear a handgun?? I feel terrible for the family, no parent should ever have to bury their child, but if he was as trained as he was supposed to be, he absolutly should have known better. It is tragic he had to lose his life over a woman whom he just met at a bar.

Hubbard student’s refusal to recite pledge draws in ACLU

Personally, as a Hubbard taxpayer, I think we all need to step off our soapboxes (as I step on mine for a moment). I agree with both sides on different aspects, but for the people so quick to accuse this student of being lazy or unpatriotic etc., remember like so many others have stated, this country was founded by those who "rebeled". For those who talk of the bloodshed that comes with freedom, would that be the blood of the TRUE americans, or as we have labled them, "Indians"? They are the original inhabitors of this country and we (I use the term we loosly) came and kicked them out like aa bunch of A-holes.
The pledge says "One Nation, Under God" Who's God? The pledge does not say the Christian God. The country is under the power of one man, does this mean the president is God? Someone said they used to recite the pledge slowly so they could understand what it was they were saying....say it a little slower and really pay attention to everything it says. We are Indivisible....REALLY? The nation was pretty divided when a black man ran for president was it not?
With Liberty and Justice for all correct? Well the Christian God says "Let Ye who is without sin cast the first stone". I am not without sin so I cannot cast judgement on this girl...and neither can you.
I for one am proud that she has the courage to stand up for her beliefs, whatever they may be. She will not be a tool(or sheep or lemming or whatever the going phrase is this year). She is a free thinking individual and I think many feel threatened when someone questions what "we" believe in or goes against the grain. And yet that is what founded this country.....Irony, at it's finest.

Lethal injection is inhumane

can't they use a jugular vein for the IV or can the drugs be administered with an IO? If so it's alot easier to drill into the leg than start an IV...don't really miss either...just a though/

Hubbard Christmas parade set for Saturday is canceled

From what I understand, the lack of funds is due to the new lighting project in the city. I'm having a hard time understanding how the city can afford to let thier new
SUV, or another cruiser, sit and run, to supervise the company working on the new project, which requires an officer to be there, and not patroling. Does this mean that there have been extra police officers on duty so that a company, which should have it's own personelle for traffic control, can do what so many other companies do without police supervision everyday? I don't understand the reasoning here. Children may not get to see Santa in a parade, people may have spent hundreds on supplies for floats and candy all for nothing, and there won't be any musical pride or big red fire trucks... but Hubbards finest won't have to stand around for less than thier overtime wages. I hope the FOP understands the negative effect this has on the public view of the PD. I thought that they worked FOR the community.

Piercings keep husband of student out of dances

Now there are many fine points made here and I try to keep an open mind, but I feel the school is in the wrong here. The fact that he has piercings does merit keeping him from the dance, but nothing in the dress code states that you can't have extra holes in your face. I could just as easily spit on someone, yet i was never banned from a dance.

Those who say he is a "freak", look at the world around you (outside of your sheltered community). Let's go back to the ORIGINAL inhabitants of this "AMERICA", that's right, native americans. Bones were used to pierce the septum, faces were painted and tattooed...WHAT FREAKS! So the white man came and kicked them out. African women would stretch their necks with rings and it was a thing of beauty. HOW DISGUSTING. The practices Casey uses are not anything new people, they've been around for centuries, and in some cultures are considered sacred. NOT IN THE LAND OF OPPORTUNITY!!!

Now let's get back to the rules. If the scool wants to set a standard, they have to follow it 100%. Schools are a tobacco free zone, yet faculty are allowed to carry cigarettes every day. Police officers can bring guns into a school. Where do the set rules begin and end? Football stars chew on the field, have drunken parties, smoke pot...but they make the school look good so let's overlook them and take it out on the "freak kids". If Casey would have been a letterman star athelete there would be no issue at all. End of rant....
