Twenty years ago, 3 in 10,000 children were autistic. That number has shot up to about 1 in 100 today. And the American Academy of Pediatrics actually wants us to believe the rise is due entirely to better diagnosis. That means doctors MISSED 97% of the cases of autism. Autistic children aren't that easy to miss. Seems to me, the AAP is more interesting in preserving its cash cow (vaccines) than it is in admitting an autism/vaccine link.

The autism epidemic is a national tragedy of staggering proportions, and as long as CDC directors can turn around and run vaccine companies, and as long as vaccine makers cannot be sued for their products harming children, there is little hope for the autism epidemic to end.

The number of vaccines has leapt from 10 in the 1970's to 36 today, and autism has followed that trajectory. Thousands of parents report their children regressed following vaccination, but the medical authorities responsible for this atrocity are working hard to refute the obvious. I hope parents reading this will educate before they vaccinate, because their pediatricians will not be looking out for them. Every vaccine is making pharma richer, and pharma execs actually sit on the advisory board of the CDC, making recommendations about new vaccines.

Very well said. I think it's also worth noting that the national media has not covered an important recent ruling in which it was found that a child named Bailey Banks developed PDD (pervasive developmental disorder), which is on the autism spectrum, as a result of his vaccines. The court drew an association between the vaccines he received and subsequent swelling of his brain which is known to occur prior to the onset of autism in many cases.

Many local newspapers such as this one are willing to tell both sides of the autism/vaccine story. Unfortunately, the national media, which relies heavily on pharmaceutical dollars for advertising revenue, presents extremely biased coverage. Only by looking beyond the national headlines can we make informed choices and protect our children. I agree Andrea, I can't think of anything more important than our children - our future.

It's true that science tells us autism is genetic, but more and more scientists tell us it's not just genetic; it's injected. As the number of vaccines has increased from 10 in the 1970's to 36 today, the increase in autism has followed that trajectory. Increases in allergies, ADHD, asthma, arthritis, childhood ear infections and a host of other immunological and neurological disorders have shot way up - with the shots. But the CDC only studies the safety of single vaccines, while infants are receiving multiple vaccines in one visit, sometimes with tragic consequences ranging from autism to seizures to SIDS. The government conceded 9 shots caused Hannah Poling's autism, and paid families nearly $2 billion in vaccine court while telling the public vaccines are perfectly safe. I hope that Obama cleans house in the CDC, disempowers Big Pharma, and makes it safe for our children to visit the pediatrician again.

Dr. Iqbal indicates his misunderstanding of this issue in his very first sentence. It's not about "denying" children vaccines; it's about administering them in a safe way. Furthermore, he tries to make a point about the safety of a single vaccine, when the safety issue is concerning mutiple vaccines that are stressing children's immune systems. We've gone from 10 vaccines in the 1970's to over 30 vaccines today, and at the same time, we've seen autism rates steadily climb. Some children have regressed into autism shortly after receiving mutiple vaccines in a day - sometimes 8 or 9 at once! This is unnecessary, and yet, the CDC allows this practice to continue despite infants going into convulsions and some dying of "SIDS" the very day they received multiple vaccines.

Worst of all, the CDC refuses to study the thousands of children who regressed into autism following their vaccinations. Perhaps Dr. Iqbal should hear what the former director of the NIH has to say about vaccines and autism. Perhaps everybody should:
