Ex-pastor pleads to assault, gets no jail time

Hey anglesallaround No it doesn't say much for our justice system, however the good thing is we do VOTE remember this when you go to the polls. This whole thing is just really sad,I think the bad thing is that Dale Giffin got away without having to register as a sexual predator.I hope that Judge and defence attorney sleeps well the next few years.

Well Mahoning County you have such a reputation, and you certainly lived up to it.What a mockery of justice, No wonder people won't come forward. And to the few of you who wondered WHY she didn't come forward sooner, PLEASE do a little homework and get your brain in gear before you waggle your toungs. You have no idea what trama and heartbreak this causes not for just a short time but ALL THE REST OF YOUR LIFE not to mention the pain and suffering it causes all of your friends and family, I can not get the picture of that poor girls Mother out of my mind, I can't imagine the pain she was feeling as she sat there quietly sobbing and listening to her Daughter recount the actions of this common criminal. I too agree there should be NO statutes when the crimes are against childeren. To you clowns_of_ytown, you also need to do a little research, the sheriff walking out with non members of the family was simply a friend who stopped by on the way home from work. Not that it is any of your business.

Ex-pastor pleads innocent to rapes

I will pray for the people of Zion, and hope that they will see that they need to rid themselves of ALL thoes who would support Dale and his criminal behavior. PLEASE folks read the comments of truthrus that person has raised some extremely GOOD questions that really do require answers. Think about it, why did Dale choose to step down instead of answer to the ELCA. To me that was an admision of quilt. I will also pray for Dale that he will see the error of his ways and ask for forgiveness from our Father and from all thoes he has assaulted.

Ex-pastor pleads innocent to rapes

Come on people of Zion, this man is NOT a Lutheran pastor, never has been. He is a slick, common criminal of the worst kind, and for 29 years, a predator of children and trusting women. He has been an insult to the clergy and a truly poor example of "What Jesus Would Do." I can't help but wonder in all his arrogance, just what he thinks Jesus Will Do? The way I see it, his only hope is confession.
