Gee, my public employee retirement will be $9,000 a year, 21 years from now. With the cost of living How will I survive? I won't get but $200 a month on social security, so that is a total of $950 a month, 21 years from now. Is that your idea of a "cushy" or "golden retirement"? Quit believing everything that you read and get some facts.
I am a public employee. I do not have insurance through the state because my husband's plan is both better and cheaper. By the way, he works in the private sector. My last pension statement said that when I retire in 20 years, I will get $9,000 a year. How is that for a "golden retirement"? I will not get the Social Security that I paid into for 20 years, only 1/3 of it. So, I will be eligible for food stamps and you people believe we have it so good. You only listen to those who support SB5. Shame on you.
