These students do not realize how lucky they are to be in the U.S. Behavior like this in most other countries would lead to jail time, hard labor and even torture. I think it's time to reconsider the "cruel and unusual" punishment law.
Funny how everyone makes the assumption that I am an uneducated high school grad who is just looking for a good labor job. Not the case, I am a YSU student, a junior at that I am just tired of Ohio colleges raising tuition and the state not doing anything to help. So maybe my problem isn't with YSU, but also with the state(but I'm sure you all read the university's complaints about the utility poles near the new college and how they might foot the bill...that money has to come from somewhere)
Most major colleges in other states are a few thousand dollars cheaper and offer an education that is just as good if not better. It was nice that the state of Ohio gave me an initial grant of $2500 for this school year and then when it came time to pay the tuition bill the grant was lowered to $1000 for the year because of budget issues.
Don't forget to mention how the tuition is up also! More students + higher tuition = really fat paychecks for the YSU higher ups. I guess the recession had put a damper on their lifestyles but at least they've figured out a way to get around that.
Fight for your land Girard! Where else in your town will you be able to grow 80 acres of weeds, as up and coming as your town is? Hell, maybe you can get Dunkin Donuts to commit to a $100,000 expansion down on those acres. With several minimum wage jobs and tax revenue upwards of $10,000 I'm sure your city would be better with that! Get a clue!
Hey Vindy, according to ESPN, the new fight date has yet to be finalized. Nov. 21 is only an option and it doesn't look good as there are already several other fights scheduled that night.....looks like Pavlik won't be boxing til 2010.
I'm not so sure we are talking about the same city. I am downtown a lot, day and night and I see people walking everywhere. They don't seem to be worried about getting shot, robbed or stabbed to me. And vagrants smoking crack behind the police station...get real, for one I'm pretty sure the cops would have a problem with that and two, most crackheads prefer to be indoors somewhere because they suffer from paranoia. And I'm not so sure anyone has noticed the stench you claim....maybe it's just you, could be time to shower.
Why is everyone so hung up on the fisherman? Does it matter where he's from or where he goes fishing? A lot of people in Canfield fish and a lot of people fish in the Mahoning River....get over it! I fish at McKelvey lake for God's sake, never been a suspect in any crimes committed there.
Sounds like someone(Janey)in here doesn't make it to Youngstown much. That's OK, just stay in your suburbs with your brothels and Dairy Queens that sell dope.
The city has gotten nicer over the past few years and yes, believe it or not people do fish in the Mahoning River. And every now and then some people even disregard a sign or two just to relax and fish a bit(I do it myself). Anyways, it's a shame what happened, no one deserves to be executed like that. I hope they find the culprit/s and do the same to them. Go get em Jimmy!
And for janey, remember to obey those signs, stop means stop.....no rolling stops now!

This isn't news, this kind of thing happens in Canfield all the time!

Murderer is such a harsh word. I was thinking something along the lines of Mortality Engineer or Mortality Manager.
