D, consider this observation. Todays republican party doesnt do whats best for the country. They do the bidding of their high-paying donors. Legislation, the group ALEC writes it. They pass it. Whatever action the president takes, right or wrong, your party gets in front of the camera and proposes the exact opposite.
Open your eyes my friend (by googling). When the Koch's, and Adelson pump billions into an election. Thats a business decision for them. They donate, expect, and get a return on their investment. Forget the smoke and mirrors with the gay rights/abortion/union-anti union rhetoric. Those sound bites are to bamboozle you. Somewhere buried in the back is a few lines of legislation that turn a profit for these big donors.Having said that, do you still hold your partys position that Citizens United is good for the country? Little guys in this vally, You and I?And this guy cruz. all hes doing is putting on a show to try to make a buck.

DS. So tell me, oh man of great vision. What did the last republican president do for this valley? And, if you have your glasses on, what did our current republican governor do for this valley?

I dont think it will get built. Its all a big show. It must have been a slow news day, and they needed something to put out. What happened the last time they asked for design proposals? About a year ago? The same companys submitted interest again this time. Why couldnt they set up the committee, and pick somebody from the last set of proposals?

Yes red, youre right about the long handled shovel. When i got hired as college summer help at the mill in the labor pool, my dad told me to make sure and grab a long handle shovel to use. One day i didnt, and i learned why. I also remember the biggest, most macho guys, football players, complaining about their back hurting after a little while, while little guys like me would go on all day.Another skill my dad taught me. He said there will always be a smaller, girley shovel. Make sure you get that one. And he was right. The little one takes less much effort to use and it wont tire you.
While i was waiting to go around the pothole patchers, about 4pm ish, i thought "these guys have been shoveling that stuff all day. I dont know about you, but when i use a shovel these days, i feel it!
My point is, slinging cold patch is not as easy as it looks....

Mr. Ginnetti. I think your forces did a good job filling potholes on a road that i drive every day. North Lima Rd in Poland. The extreme winter took its toll on the pavement, it was rough. I recongnize that your crew did the best they could do in the given circumstances, and i appreciate their effort. The section between Walker Mill and Spitler could use a proper asphalt resurfacing, and i hope that it is on your priority list for paving. Thank you.

Hey Walter, im just curious. What would you consider a fair wage to be for a cold-patch slinger? Dont take this as an insult, but as a fact. I dont think you would last 15 minutes on that job with YOUR physique. Am i right? While it may appear to be skill-less, not every man can operate a shovel. So i ask you again. Perhaps for a nephew, or son-in-law of yours, or a friend, that wasnt lucky enough to be born with your intellectual genes. But instead has to work with his back for a living. What would you consider a fair wage for him?

Wow! Eivo, only in your bizarro fox world could this obstructionist clueless kook be a viable candidate.
Soooo... Yesterday your man Mr. Cruz signed up for Obamacare. How bout that!

joe, i dont think you considered inflation in your argument. when Ronald Reagan increased the deficit by 186%, and the $160 billion S&L bailout, that was a lot of money in 1980's dollars.
You cant compare the dollar amount in 1980's to todays dollars.
186% is still a lot in my book. Especially from a guy that bamboozled everybody and promised to cut spending. Remember that bullcrap "Reagonomics? George H Bush called it "Voo-Doo economics".And take note, the Bush family, namely Neal Bush (W and Jebs brother), profited handsomely from the Silverado S&L theft/bailout. Do you remember that?If necessary, ill google that and paste it here for you.
