Agreed!
Not only that, why is he on "paid administrative leave"?
Not paid is how it should be! And perhaps fined!
I'm beyond a little tired of hearing about public officials being disiplined by being put on a paid vacation!
Can a private citizen ever expect paid administrative leave
from an employer? Hell no!

I only had to read as far as:

"to end a long streak of losing money on cars made at Lordstown."

This is laughable! Anyone that has ever worked at Lordstown knows that the revenue generated by the 2nd (and 3rd) shifts is pure profit!

I'm thrilled that our Idora Park icon has found a new loving home.
I'm saddened because, to me it's a symbol of all that we have lost, or let go without a fight, that we took for granted.
Remember Youngstown, there's always someone that wants what you have. We've sold ourselves short too many times.

What's amazing to me, is that the executives that occupy the 13 floor of the GM building don't notice the financial hemorrhaging on a daily basis, and react to it legitimately.
Why do they act so surprised only four times a year when the quarterly reports come out?
Answer: The GM 'bean-counters' make the corporation look worse than it really is, to suit their goals, like employee buy-outs and the elimination of pensions.

I agree with Mr. Venerose.

"The area has relied on General Motors’ Lordstown plant for years. Without action, the area will be holding an event like this someday to remember the end of automaking in the area."

However, for there to be an event, people will have to be present. Someday when GM pulls out, that perverbial 'light switch' in the Mahoning Valley will finally be turned off. And, you'll be very unfortunate if you're still here to attend.

Yes, we still have all of our eggs in one basket.
It's not our fault, we know better this time, but because of the 'Global Economy', it's nearly impossible to create, and keep domestic manufacturing jobs.

Be very afraid. I've been to the Lordstown Plant.
Today, most of the manufacturing equipment is made portable. Someday they will be gone, and it will happen quickly, so beware.
