i find it interesting that instead of addressing what ryan has to say on the hypocracy of some wanting to raise taxes on workers, you want to attack the messenger.
while i agree the democrats have done some dumb things, the message is valid. doesn't anyone think that raising taxes on one segment, while ranting about raising taxes on another secment is hypocricitcal?
the headline on the is delphi retirees deserve better. given the attitude on many in the valley, if was the uaw members losing their pension, people would jump for joy. i wonder about the disconnect.
i think they do deserve better. because if delphi can eliminate their pension, the tax payer will be paying it through the fed pension fund set up just for such occasions.
how hypocritical is to say delphi retirees losing their pensions, most of whom are salary and non union, while at the same time jumping for joy that union workers are paid too much, have too many benefits, and cause companies to either close or move else where are villified ?
it's great that some jobs lost in the past from the mahoning valley will return.
but let us not forget, it took millions in tax dollars to lure this company. i would hope that the past doesn't repeat itself and after a few years they close the place
i do know that if wanted a union, you could have gone through the process with the department of labor. a vote would have taken place. the salary employees at gm and delphi, before it was split off from gm decided they were better off without the union.
how's that working for you?
it's pretty pathtic that a union you didn't want; and now you want that same union to help you.
in conclusion. it is terrible what delphi has done to their retirees. if the wonderful democratic politicians that have run the mahoning vallet for so many years actually cared, they would do something.

Census shows area losing population
the democratic party has taken the mv valley for granted for years.
i remember when clinton first ran and promised a fed accounting facility. he recieved overwhelming support in the mv.
the next election he came back to the valley and promised the same, and again recieved overwhelming support.
how can so many people be so stupid?

Graham gets credit for Lordstown success, not blame for GM failures
fair,
i do know that if wanted a union, you could have gone through the process with the department of labor. a vote would have taken place. the salary employees at gm and delphi, before it was split off from gm decided they were better off without the union.

Valley Cruze sales rev up
fairandequal,
i'm sure you are aware that gm doesn't own delphi anymore. they haven't for some time now.
gm also has new execs. fact is there has been 3 ceo's in the last 2 years.

From the start, Cruze sales move into the fast lane
fairandequal,
i really don't understand your complaint against gm if you worked for delphi. years ago gm spun delphi off as a separate, stand alone company.
your complaint is why your bosses at delphi.
