Mooney may be on the move to southern Mahoning County

I find it funny that that there are 3 Catholic High Schools in the Youngstown-Warren area and all three of them are one-third full.

The answer seems pretty obvious to me as what the Diocese of Youngstown should do.........but the will NEVER, EVER close the shrine that is Ursuline.

Money is the whole issue here.

It's about getting donations to build it so they don't have to spend their own money. They would rather keep their own money for retired priests and nuns to live in luxury at the expense of their teachers and other employees.

Do you know priests and nuns never pay a dime for health care, and that is forever. When diocesan teachers rand other employees retire they lose their health care completely and don't even have an option to buy.

Mooney will get a new high school when the wealthy from Boardman and Poland and Canfiield ante up, and not until.

STATE ROUNDUP || News and notes

Lots of criticism for old Ringo, but no answers to his questions.

I heard that half of Ursuline's starting backfield played junior high football at Girard, is this true?

STATE ROUNDUP || News and notes

Ursuline - Mooney, Ursuline - Mooney, Ursuline - Mooney

Almost the entire sports section of the Vindicator has been about Ursuline and Mooney all week long.

If the 2 area teams in the state finals were Jackson-Milton and Campbell does anyone think they would be getting the same coverage.

It's disgusting how the Vindicator glorifies the success of these 2 Parochial schools.

Wouldn't it be great to know just how many players from each team actually went a Catholic grade school?

Or even better, how many players are even Catholic at all.

Let all the Catholic schools in Ohio play for their own championship, in fact let them play each other all year long. No Athletic Directors in three counties should ever schedule either of these 2 teams during the regular season again.

Mooney-Ursuline football dilemma solved

Nice that the first playoff game in the new Girard Stadium will be played by ..............(drum roll).........Ursuline!

Ursuline, the school that consistently over the years has stolen Girard athletes for all of it's programs.

Sure is obvious that there are a couple of Ursuline grads in charge of things in Girard,

Guess money means more than community pride to those guys. If Girard grads were running that place you can be sure Ursuline would never be playing there.

Football playoff pairings announced

Ursuline sneaks into the state playoffs again with three losses.

And they will probably go to the state again too.

They should be so proud of themselves.

How do the powers that be there even look into a mirror, cheating and illegal recruiting has just become a way of life for them.

Campbell vs Girard

Girad scored 40 points in this game and you show 6 bad plays!

Great job!

‘We’re ready to work together’

Jim Melfi was nothing less than a total obstructionist throughout the entire process. He shouldn't even be at the signing ceremony. Let Councilman Shelby, Kren, Seidler and Treasurer John Moliterno sign it instead.

All of the Mahoning Valley needs to know just how many problems Jim Melfi caused during this process.

He should be ashamed to show his face on Wednesday.

No V&M deal: Melfi

JIm Melfi is a narcissist, plain and simple.

And no one is ever going to change that.

Let's hope for all concerned that in 2 years he is gone and quickly forgotten.
