Both schools are at less than 1/3rd of what they can accommodate as proven in the Baby Boom years. Combine the schools and lower the tuition rates and let the average Catholic family to attend. Lessons learned from the past are the Catholic elementary schools in Youngstown. It was recommended to merge schools but pride and stubbornness prevailed. Example was St. Anthony, St. Edward, and Immaculate. All three said close your schools and come to ours. Now look. I am curious if anyone would approach YSU and just ask if they are interested to expand. As a Northside Catholic, I would be very hesitant to provide the Diocese with any extra money for charities when it may help Mooney to move...................

How tragic. Unless a mechanical malfunction happened , their family and friends, especially the teens and young adults, will learn one horrific lesson in life. If by human error, hopefully it will make others think and act responsible in the future and prevent similar tragedies..........
