State budget surplus justifies revisiting funding for schools

"The result: A biennium budget that has caused undue hardship for local governments and has forced school districts around the state to make deep cuts in their operating budgets to absorb the funding reductions from the state." OK Vindy, when times were good, did school levies decline, or did spending increase?

" When a school district is forced to lay off teachers, class sizes increase, and student learning suffers. When a city has to lay off policemen or firefighters, public safety is jeopardized. "
OK Vindy, class sizes are set to a max of 25. If you think that's high, then don't tell the students what their class sizes will be in college. Public safety jeopardized? When there are more bad guys then there are good guys, you've not only lost the battle, you will go broke(as we have) with an attempt to tax yourself to death in order to out number them. Is there some special code written somewhere that ONLY PRIVATE SECTOR employees can loose their jobs, but public sector employees must retain their jobs, benefits, and pensions for life?

"But today, not even year after the adoption, the state is reporting surplus tax revenue of at least $265 million, plus it has $250 million in a rainy day fund." OK Vindy, you think this is a LOT OF MONEY? In tipical Vindy/ Union/Liberal/Democratic fashion, if there is a dollar around ANYWHERE, then by golly , lets spend it.

Welcome back Vindy, those of us who know you well and are about to die from the taxes you would, and will love to help impose on us, salute you.

School officials in Liberty look for missing equipment

OK Mr. Supt., why didn’t you call 911? This is a police matter, not a politician. Did you know the people; get the name off the truck or even the license plate number? Obviously, you’re in it up to your neck, and, were they taking supplies which Liberty didn’t own? Why didn’t you call the politicians when you didn’t get the $100,000?

Let’s see, a thief calls a thief, to report another thief? You can’t make this stuff up……ok can you? And you think Liberty taxpayers should bail you incompetent people out with all the lies and corruption you perpetrated? Think again.

Money-saving plans in Hubbard call for look at 911 consolidation

Would someone please show me where it's written that only employees in the private sector can loose their jobs and that's OK. But when someone in the public sector might loose their job, then governments will go out of their way to the extent of placing levies on the ballot, to keep them employed. There are millions of people out there in the private sector who wish someone would have placed a levy on the ballot form them. But then, you would be broke yourself as Hubbard is, trying to fill every short coming, vacancy, budget cut, etc. to please everone. This IS not a perfect world. It is one going through a colossal transition. In most businesses philosophy, it's now, 'change or die.'

Liberty Township’s 911 system needs independent evaluation

Hey PANDERCATOR, the other day the telephone lines to LPD were down which includes the 911 center. To get 911 service, you had to call Girard's 'TEN DIGIT' number. Do you think their dispatchers know all the streets in Liberty? Did the LPD give Girard a 'pass' for handing out 'death sentences'?

Liberty Township’s 911 system needs independent evaluation

Are you nuts? You can't keep pandering to every issue involving tax dollars and/or unions. You are saying that EVERY community that either has a regional or county dispatch center is virtually handing their residents a 'death sentence'? Did you talk to any of these call center directors or employees or citizens they serve....bet not. So Liberty needs to take money from the state for an independent study? What happened to elected officials making financial and safety decisions based on their study? If this merger was done 5 years ago when the cost would have been as low as 80,000, how much money would have the township have saved over the years Vindy? Did the lady that died on her 'front porch' received a 'death sentence' .....maybe a regional dispatcher would have FORCED the issue and she might be alive today. Why didn't you require Austintown and Boardman to do a study prior to spending over 1,000,000 on new equipment for their radio rooms? They now have levies on the ballot where they could have saved money going to the county. Your now also known as the 'PANDERCATOR' and you STILL have no shame.

Liberty officials reconsider open enrollment to close shortfall

What we need to continue to market is that we have quality teachers,” Watson said. “Just like any family, you don’t let yourself be defined by your financial situation. We can’t do that here.”

MARKET? Now were going to use private sector lingo wilh public sector mentallity? The current and previous boards have, and can only say, gone 'out of their way' to screw up Liberty Township. The 'public sector' in Liberty, has 'defined' the township's status, reputation, and direction downward for decades to come. No more new levies ....period, And 'no' to open enrollment.

Voters face school levy in Poland for 3rd time

If you really think, you can fill ALL the voids in local, state, and eventually federal cuts, then you either better get a tremendous raise annually, or work three jobs, and yes, save all your money so others can have a good time and retire in the lap of luxury.

Voters face school levy in Poland for 3rd time

At that meeting, ask them what they did with their share of federal stimulus money. If Poland, like most of the other schools, used two years of funds for raises(which is what it was not intended to be used for), hence this is why they will ALL need more money. If I gave you a raise with free money, then someone has to anti-up to keep it going. Oh yes, it must be the taxpayers.

State probe of school projects in Liberty needed for closure

In Liberty, 'duped' means, 'never having to say your sorry.....or accountable....or responsible.' It's a code word for,'we have moved on,,,it's behind us,,,we're all one now.' Miss DeVito, and the rest of the board members, are not only in denial and living in never-never land, word on the street is that she wants to re-introduce 'open inrollment'...what got us in trouble in the first place.
Liberty can only move on, when this current board 'moves on'. So for the good of the community, school board... resign, go away, move on....so the community as a whole, can go foward.
