Well casper and metrodawg, I am sure the valley will turn down any money they may be offered from the casinos. We will show them!!!

casper, you stated that the four casinos would go to the four largest population areas. Now why would you want to put the casinos where the largest populations (potential customers) would be? Gee, they may have something there. The loss in revenue will be to the neighboring states that have been drawing players from Ohio.. That is common sense.

It just amazes me at times!

Erplane, while I agree that this is a opportunity for Ytown to begin a rebuild I seriously doubt it will happen. Politicians see extra funds as a bonus to be abused one way or another!

Adding casinos to Ohio will just dilute the revenue going into the border states. Columbus and Cleveland will see revenue since some of the locals there may not of been traveling to the border states. I have never been to Mountaineer so I do not know how far it is from Ytown but possibly closer than Cleveland will be so the local money may still leave the state.

Glad to see that our local clown is glad the valley voted against casinos but will work hard to get as much money as he can, plus some for the valley!!!

Jeff, we don't always agree but you nailed it on your description of the valley mentality.

Steelerman, you stated that some of the employees would come from neighboring states. Well yes, that would make sense. Now since Columbus is not too close to a border, those workers would have to be imported!!! Those dumb casino owners are going to bring in experienced people to manage their new multimillion dollar investments. Of course they are going to do that!

Does anyone know roughly how many eastern Ohio residents travel to Pa. every day to work? Yes even Ohio residents travel across state borders to work!

It is time for our state financial people to travel to the neighboring states to see what they are doing right and wrong in overseeing the dollars generated by their casino operations!

Bigben, mark, I will bet that all the lottery funds that were destined to be a bonus for education are going to education. But just like in Florida, your representatives took it on themselves to take funds that were designated for education and blow them on useless crap because after all, we have the lottery to take care of education! I could be wrong but I wouldn't bet on it!

If she will not identify the shooter the police need to close the case file on this one.

Stan, I will be willing to bet that the NRA will defend her. As a member of the NRA I will donate to her defense.

Her son said she was a poor shot, when it is "up close and personal you do not have to be the best shot in the world, just willing to do what is necessary"

Hayden, Your post reminded me of some profound words from centuries ago.

In the year 1787, Alexander Tyler (a Scottish history professor said)

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government." A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy,

Some may disagree but just think about it.

1) Get a Concealed Weapons Permit!
2) Buy a gun you fell comfortable with!
3) Learn how to use it!
4) Learn how to maintain it!
5) Keep it safe from children
6) Take the time to stay proficient with it!

Remember, "He takes care of he who takes care of himself" This saying is applicable in so many ways.
