I am sure that all the faculty and staff feel Dr. Anderson's salary and benefits are well deserved. At the bargaining table, they'll be telling the YSU administration and its rubber stamp Board of Trustees how much they deserve the pay increases, salary equity adjustments and pay incentives they are demanding. The enrollment bonuses that the ACE members received the last three years are criminal, just like their president who negotiated them with Dr. Anderson.
Amen, amen, amen! With the valley in an upsurg of jobs, industrial investment and national attention, it is important for YSU to show some backbone and leadersip in controlling its costs and the perception that its unions get anything they want. President Anderson's history of being comfy with the unions will have to end now. She needs to be direct and unequivocal - the public money trough is drying up. Also, will YSU incur the cost of Dr. Anderson's partner living expenses with her housing allowance and will the public incur the cost of him living with her at Pollock House? I am sure these costs are covered for a spouse, but are they allowed for a live-in boyfriend?
She is the least qualified final candidate to be YSU 's president. She is owned by the unions, and she lacks the skills to be a president. Being student oriented, which many of her posse claim is her best attribute, makes her a good VP for Student Services. Being president requires talents, intelligence and depth that Anderson lacks across the board. Her appointment would make Drs.Jones, Pugesly and Coffelt roll over in their graves and for Drs. Humphrey and Cochran to simply shake their heads in disblief.
Cindy Anderson was, by far, the least qualified final candidate to be President of YSU. In fact, anywhere else in the country she would not even be qualified to apply for a presidency of a university. She is a light weight whose selection will be amusing to the others around the state. The Board's decision to hire her is so parochial that it is laughable. Her eneptness will be a detriment to YSU. Her lack of depth in many areas will be evident soon and will hurt YSU's image and its future.
Anderson should not be even a finalist. She is light weight and a game player who was a typing teacher. If there is not a strong applicant in this group, YSU should advertise again. YSU deserves a new president who has not be a pawn and a player in the labor dissent at YSU. Anderson has a lot of baggage in that area and should not be given further consideration. She is very quick to give the unions whatever they want and then pals with them.
Trafficant is nothing more than another corrupt politician from the Valley. Has everyone forgotten that he is a convicted felon? Has everyone forgotten he was the laughing stock of late night c-span? Has everyone forgotten he is the primary reason the Valley received so little in federal and state dollars during his tenure? Once again, the national and regional new media has picked-up on the glorification of Jim Trafficant by his loyal and obviously not-too-bright followers. They are laughing at us for our blind stupidity and assume the majority of the Valley loves him. Tim Ryan has brought more to the Valley in the form of positive national attention and federal dollars than Jimbo ever did. Jim Trafficant is a crook - nothing more, nothing less. The more coveage the media gives him, the more his dull followers feel validated in praising him.
Even worse than maldonado and domhoff being union thugs is the ysu administration being clueless and incompetent. unbelievably good public relations for a city than is the number one dying city in the country. keep up the good work all of you that are about "give me mine and the hell with everyone else."
Hopefully, the arbiter will see that Maldonado, under the cover of office, tampered with the classification system to benefit himself. However, does anyone else in the union benefit from Maldonado's handi-work? Will the arbiter take the contamination of the entire classification system under advisement or does he only look at Maldonado's position. Perhaps, the aribiter will find this a criminal matter and not a contract issue within his jurisdiction!! Let's hope so!!
buckeye - you are the idiot!! bush and the republicans created this mess and now obama is working both sides of the aisle to solve a multitude of problems. the republicans and plently of uninformed folks like you are obstructionists who are so blinded by partisan politics that you spew negativism without knowing the facts. obama is three weeks into his administration. why don't you give him a whole month before you call him a failure?

Is YSU’s prez tough enough?

Youngstown State will have one of its own as president

Finalists for YSU presidency must be questioned closely

Draw a line between Traficant support and Traficant news
