UPDATED Tuesday, 9:30 p.m.: “Second chance” does not mean Dann’s a favored Vindy guy

The private sector is not government. In the private sector, the people who hire you are also usually responsible for firing you. The people who vote you into office are not necessarily the other people who are also in a government position of being able to impeach you. In any case, I still think the man should be given at least a few months to prove he can do the job properly. If we all were penalized for everything we may have done that is not right/just plain wrong, there would be no one in office and no one working in the private sector either. Who can say they never did anything that embarassed themselves or in hindsight may have been wrong. If this man can recover the support of his family and in-laws, then maybe we should not cast the first stone. Just wondering, did these 2 girls who were sexually harassed (and I have no doubt they were) actually go to Marc Dann personally with this problem? If they didn't, then that is probably why this fiasco has ballooned into such a cluster (if they did go to him then then I apologize the these girls for what I have said). I believe that if they had taken these incidents to him personally and privately, then this would have been dealt with in a more timely manner. Cindy, perhaps your presence at that condo with that sleaze Guiteriez gave Marc the impression that you consented to being there. Mr. Dann is not a liar or a dishonest person. He brought up the fact that he had an afair before being asked about it and I believe he will make amends for the mess in the AG's office. Give him to the end of his term and then let's see what happens. People keep equating this situation with Clinton, however, Clinton denied any impropriety at first, you might remember. Marc Dann didn't let it get that far. All of you people draging his wife through the mud and trying to use him as an example for punishment of what is wrong with our political offices need to take a step back and get some perspective.

Legislators move slowly in drive toward impeachment of Dann

State Senator Kevin DeWine allegedly had an affair while his wife was pregnant. Is anyone asking him to step down from his office?

Dann acknowledges errors; we suggest a second chance

I also believe in second chances. Every person who has not broken the law should get a second chance. If Marc Dann did not break any laws in his capacity as Attorney General, then he should be given a second chance, as well. We give numerous chances to low life scum like Kenneth Brios and Danny Lee Hill to appeal their death sentences. These appeals go on for decades. Marc Dann has admitted to his mistakes and has vowed to correct them and show the people of the State of Ohio that he can change and be a competent office holder. Let's give him that chance. If he cannot turn things around in the Attorney General's office by the time his term ends then the people of the State of Ohio can vote someone else into that office for the next term. After all, even convicted murders who have mutilated and tortured their victims get second chances. All of you people need to start putting things in perspective here. Just because someone had poor judgment in the people he hired and even acted like a fool himself should not exempt him from a second chance.
