As a Buckeye fan I am disappointed that Coach Tress will allow this schedule! With all of the negative perception the nation has regarding Buckeye football I think their priorities are misplaced. They SHOULD focus on practice and winning while in Pasedena, not vacationing. Hey, here is an idea.... how about getting down to business and winning. Then, vacation after the game!!!!! Am I missing something here??
noteworthy....how bad did Ursuline beat your school? Or are you one of those kids that weren't good enough to play at a school like Ursuline or Mooney. I bet if Ursuline were division 1 and winning you would still be a hater and have negative things to say. When they've won state titles in baseball, basketball, etc.in division 2 what did you say then? You obviously never played at a play off level anytime and anywhere because your comments are flat out ignorant. Learn how to support local schools that acutally bring positivity to Youngstown rather than people hearing from ignorant hate activists like yourself.
Correction to my last note about getting destroyed at Xavier: 2 division 2 schoold and 1 division 3 school on the schedule. I'm sure this will make you better.
I must admit, with a disappointing football season almost behind us how excited I was for Penguin Basketball. I drank the "juice" that poured in about how great this penguin team would be this year. However, it's the same old team..... BAD!!! To lose to a first year coach on a Xavier team that lost everyone to graduation a year ago and being an in state game just shows how far behind YSU continues to be. I still think they will win 2-3 more games than last year thanks to scheduling 2 or 3 division 2 schools, but getting beat by almost 30 to a middle of the pack school in a very good, not great conference is embarrassing. This is by no means the Xavier team of last year, so there is no excuse for this lop sided loss. Thank goodness YSU players put so much "hard work" in over the summer, etc., etc., etc. Maybe next year will be our year.
Coach Angle has always been a great motivator, but not so good with the X's & O's side of football. But, he surrounds himself with good coaches which get his teams to playoffs. I beleive he has grown as a person and coach since his Ursuline days and wish him the best tonight. I still don't think he can win a state title yet, but there is always next year. Good luck Howland.
Great job coach!!! Maybe you can push your recruiting philosophy on the coaches for the other sports we have. I know Ytown isn't known for producing the best players in sports outside of football, but, when you get 2-3 players a year that are highly recruited nationally, we have to go after them and get them as you've done. Thanks!
Please give us alumni something to be proud of. Be confident and go into every game refusing to lose!! You can beat anyone on your schedule. Do it and make the NCAA Tourney for once. Prove to the world that we are not just a "has been" football school. Shock em Guins!
This product is worse than the football team and I didn't think that was possible. Look for these overmatched ladies and a D3 coach at best win 3 games. Please prove me wrong! Go Lady Guins!
I route for Penn State because of the Ytown players and I know they will bounce back. But, it was nice to see my Buckeyes in such a nice win. The score should have been a lot worse, but, the bucks are still growing.
