Youngstown police probe shooting of pit bull on West Side

This is a terrible situation. There are many issues here. FIrst of all, are both dogs ok, and did they receive adequate medical care and treatment? Also, is the pit bull a mix or a purebread pit bull, and if it is a mix, is it subject to the same regulations? Was the owner cited? Did the woman shooting violate any laws? It seems like the woman could have called police BEFORE shooting the dog. If the dog had run off, she could have retrieved her dog and gone back inside to wait for the police, rather than shooting the dog at that point. Also, the dog warden needed to do more than just tell the dog owner that the dog needed medical attention, the dog warden needed to ensure that both dogs received adequate medical attention. It seems that there needs to be much more investigation into this matter, and also that something needs to be done to make sure both dogs have recieved the medical attention that they required.
