If he didn't agree with the group's principals, then what choice did they have but to ask him to leave the board. Unless everyone on the board is going in the same direction, they will go no where.

Perhaps there is a group that is more in line with Tim's point of view that will ask him to be on their board.

It wasn't right for him to call them a fringe group, though, just because they don't agree on everything. Name calling never serves any good purpose and it makes him look judgmental.

But others have been kept up for weeks, and really a day or two is enough time for everyone to have their say.

Vindy is the only website that keeps them up for that long. It's like they get too lazy to change them or something.

News is only news for a while, then it's old news, like this silly Sanford scandal poll.

It would be nice if these polls would change after a few days...having the same stale poll for weeks at a time is dull.

Yeah, dirtbags with no where else to go, high school students who need to do research, people researching their family history, kids learning to read, tutors teaching kids who need a little extra help, seniors who can't afford amazon.com, people looking for books that aren't available on Kindle, business owners looking for help making new business plans, collectors who want to know what their treasures are worth, parents wanting to have positive interaction with their kids, babies and moms who want to have educational opportunties not offered by the school system, authors researching their latest books, teachers looking for lesson plans that will help their students achieve on the standardized tests...yeah, other than that, no one goes to the libraries anymore.

Often city wages are so low employees can't afford to live in decent neighborhoods in the city they serve. It's not their fault, the wages and policies are set by administrators and board members, many of whom do NOT live within city limits because they received exemptions when they were hired. If it's ok for higher-ups to get exemptions, why should the people who do the actual work be punished? If you had to live on $6 to $12 an hour, where would you live? That's the wage of more than half of the municipal workers in Ohio. If you could get a decent house in a safe neighborhood in the township for $70,000, would you really pay $125,000 to live in a similar house in a similar neighborhood within the city limits? And if your spouse owned a house in Canfield, would you really sell it and move to an innercity neighborhood in Youngstown? I doubt it.

Hmm, they are going to slash funding for libraries that everyone needs, but create a new bureacracy to standardize the feeding of animals...Does that seem crazy to anyone else?

So, what's in the box? Is it like the leftover mac and cheese and cans of green beans they give away at the food pantries? How much food do you get for $30? Enough for a couple meals, enough for a couple days?

Might be an interesting program, but who wants to preorder if you don't know what you are going to get?

I don't think this is the best possible time to start a new tax. Why don't they table this for six months and see if the economy has started to rebound by then?

For a lot of Trumbull County families, $15 can be the difference between getting a license and having to give up their car. Will the county commissioners be creating a bus service for those families who can't pay the additional tax right now because of layoffs and cuts in hours and salaries?

The increase in prevalence of autism can largely be explained by the fact that the term "autism" was redefined 10 years ago to include children who are shy, children who are socially awkward and children who don't start speaking by by age 1, among others.

20 years ago, a child who was shy was shy, not pathological and a child that didn't speak by 12 months was a late-bloomer. The only children who were diagnosed with autism where children with no social functioning at all.

I am completely in favor of the earliest possible intervention for children with autism. I am opposed to labeling children who are simply outside the new narrow limits of "normal."

As for the violence, few children with autism become violent. It's very rare. Autism alone doesn't explain this horrible crime.

I agree that this stimulus package is not completely wonderful, but the economy is in need and so is the infrastructure.

If construction can get going again, then other jobs will follow. That's why new construction starts is one of the best indicators of economic health. Construction pays well and the money that the workers make goes into the economy through the stores, the banks, the restaurants, etc.

Although not everyone likes jobs where you get dirty, those jobs drive the economy.
