If Coach Wolford is being paid twice what Jon Heacock was, then it seems like we should be getting our money's worth.
Saturday's game against South Dakota gave me the impression our team was either poorly coached or our coaching staff hadn't really boned up on the Jackrabbits' capabilities. A Company Commander I had once observed to us that "once you cross the LD, the 5 Paragraph Field Order is up for grabs. The enemy is playing by their own plan of action and are looking to upset ours". Maybe the same applies here. Sometimes the D or the O has to react to the opponents plans. If our team is dominant, sure, we can force them to play our game. I still felt that we were playing catchup in making adjustments. Either that, or our players need more seasoning.
Me, I'd let him coach this year and next. Then, if we're not possessors of a respectable record and not competitive in a game, it's time for a new talent search.
It isn't easy to be a head coach and not everyone can do the job. That's why they pay decent money to the guy.
In the article, the spending edge is with the "Vote NO" crowd. That's the heart of the article. They are outspending the forces of common sense. AND it is money, derived from taxes, levies and UNION dues.
db: Your article is absolutely dead on.
If the anti Issue 2 are "middle class" where are they getting the UPPPER CLASS BUDGET money for this campaign from? Their arguement is that "the middle class is being destroyed". But they can muster a whole lot of money for this campaign? Square that up for us!
Watching the game, the team looked to be inconsistant in executing plays. What made this important was the South Dakota team came out of the locker room determined not to lose again. I got the feeling our guys were worried about losing again.
There is talent on the 'Guins. Arod's comment (above) is appropriate. For all of Wolford's talk, there appears to be some spark missing from their play. I wouldn't fault the players all that much. Yeah, they made errors and drew penalties, but do did South Dakota.
The Jackrabbits were supposed to have a good running attack and had lost their starting QB. Their substitute QB killed us on his passing. Agreed, we sacked him 3 times and he threw one INT for a TD for us, but his killler play was that long TD pass to kill us. Defensively, the secondary needs to be addressed.
If the Big O stays in office much longer, jobs won't be a memory....they'll be a legend.
Most people work for small businesses. But those businesses are beset by OSHA and other federal regulators. Taxes are a big problem for them, enough that they have to figure it close to consider hiring another employee.
And there's those who have the money, but are not eager to invest it in work or in stocks because of all the uncertainty caused by The Big O. Tax them out of their money? They'll see it as confiscation. Litigation, tied up in court sound like the route that legislation will travel.
Some people complain about the Big O always campaigning. Maybe that's a good thing. At least when he's giving his speeches to audiences in Blue states, he's not hatching up more ideas that will scuttle the economy further.
Maybe this is his plan. We'll all become socialists, fully initiated in this idea, so we'll all stay home and collect our various checks. The money will come from taxes. And the taxes will be paid by the rich. And after the rich are plucked clean then by the...government officials who have all the money by now? Naw...that won't happen.
Separate the public sector from the private sector. The "prostesters", led by the Auto Workers, SEIU and another bunch who I could care less about remembering, are out there harassing the private sector. Anything to get the public's mind off The Big O's miserable "record" in the White House.
Just think! Kasich ruined a company and got $400,000 for it. What company was it and what was their connection to the public trough? Solyndra...$585,000,000,000. AND THAT WAS PUBLIC MONEY!!!!!!!We KNOW WHERE that money came from, dont we?
You think the market is a scam? Try the left's "green" energy. The only green I see is the cash going into some of The Big O's crony capitalists pockets.
But wasn't he a "capitalist"? Why all the eulogies? Particularly in this socialist valley, it's hard to understand why anyone thought he was so bright and came up with some stuff that helps communication around the world.
More Union Democrat crying! Talk about a dictatorship of the USA. There is one. Starts in the White House, the Senate and all the "Civil Service" positions.
Add in the universities, the public school system and it's almost complete.
Anyone who fights against it "does not practice "Bipartisanship""...as noted in the Left's manual of control and how to maintain it.
In the upcoming elections, the choice of the present economic-socio failure or something better will have to be made.

If Issue 2 goes down, so does Ohio.

Man found dead at Youngstown South Side home
Probably the only reason the infant wasn't iced was because it hadn't done anything to the shooter.
Or maybe the infant was overlooked?
Wasn't there an article yesterday about a YPD Lieutenant who had turned in fake overtime hours?
That neighborhood was once a very nice one. Guess it ain't no more.

Student shot with stun gun faces charges
Is it for this that Martin Luther King marched in Selma?
I wonder if he confronted this person, how she would answer his question of "Why"? I doubt she could.

YPD Lt. Kelty punished for false OT
Agreed! This is a good reason for Issue 2 to be kept (it's SB5). And firing, too.
The guy is a Lieutenant; if he was a patrolman on the beat, it's the same. Fired. This "officer" knew better.
You get fired in the Private Sector of the economy. Maybe the slap on the wrist is because of the UNION?
