Another mayor, another arena gamble

Nice job Todd. The Covelli Centre is a much needed facility. It's an anchor for the downtown and I support it 100%.

Site work launches $840K effort to overhaul Wick Recreation Area

What about the ice rink? Until the ice rink is brought back the Wick Recreation area will not be what it can be. I expect the Mill Creek Board of Commissioners to find a way to reopen the
ice rink.

Smoking fines cost Ohio bar liquor permit renewal

Good! I'm sure there are also a few bars in Youngstown that are walking a thin line.

Mayor takes exception to renaming bar ‘Xclusive’

"We already know we’ve got the light on us because we’re black-managed. Why would I add to that?"

What an idiot this guy is. His place has no dress code, it's a problem bar that needs to close.

100 St. Pat's parishioners are made parade marshals

I wish the parade would move downtown - where it belongs. Suburbia and a mall parking lot just doesn't do it for me.

Carrying tradition

Went to this event for the first time Sunday. It was absolutely amazing. The music, costumes, and of course the church itself makes this an event that if held in Westminster Abby in London would be a huge tourist draw.

Parks director brings decades of experience

I hope under Mr. Johnson's leadership the ice rink can be reopened. It's a shame how it rotted away.

Downtown properties gobbled up for housing

All these buildings turning into apartments/condos is great news! All cities - and I mean all cities - are doing this. I also hope Smokey Hollow gains momentum. Once you get more people living downtown other businesses will open, including grocery type stores. I live in downtown Pittsburgh and even though the Burgh has a fair number of people living downtown it still does not have a full-scale grocery store downtown. Everything takes time and Rome was not built in a day.
