I am truly saddened by this. I never met Wilma, but I saw her walking many, many times. It is so sad that an accident like this happened.

May you Rest in Peace Wilma!!!

Tracy Morgan’s mom: ‘I’m trying to find the answer’

Just my 2 cents but if you are worth $18 million and your Mom, the woman who brought you into this world, needs $25,000, it seems to me he should pay the bill off for her. If he doesn't want to have anything to do with her after that fine, but to him the 25k is like $100 for the rest of us.

Now, I have no idea what she did or didn't do to him. If I knew all the facts, I might see it differently, but to not help your mother when she needs it, and you can do it, just seems wrong.

Kelly Pavlik busted for OVI after ATV accident

What a bum! He had the world in his hands and he threw it all away for alcohol. Yes, I know it is a disease, but if he wanted to he could overcome it. My father is a recovering alcoholic who hasn't touched a drink since 4/1/1980, and he didn't have nearly as much going for him as Kelly. It is such a shame to see him destroy himself like this. He once represented Youngstown in a positive light, now he just makes it look bad like most everything else in the area.

Turn down additional duties, YSU faculty told

I agree totally with Tigerlilly. This newspaper is so biased against the Unions at YSU that I shudder each time I read an article regarding YSU and the unions. It's a shame the only newspaper in Youngstown hates YSU. Just go back and read the editorials. Unbiased news is not what the Vindicator spews. It prints lies, and all it want is the unions to lose, lose, lose.

‘No one wins in a strike’ is a phrase worth remembering

@bikerdadbmw - there probably is some bias, having lived in this area and been pro union my entire life. But I believe that this newspaper, does not report the facts in an unbiased manner. They bash YSU at every turn. They bash the Unions even more. To this newspaper YSU is nothing more than a punching bag, and as I said before, without YSU Youngstown would be in some terrible shape.

Obviously we cannot be told everything, but selective journalism is not something I want from the only newspaper in Youngstown.

‘No one wins in a strike’ is a phrase worth remembering

I am so tired of the slant that the Vindicator puts on all issues YSU. This supposed professional media outlet does nothing but bash YSU. When it is convenient it is the unions they bash. Other times it is the administration. Let's be real here, without YSU, Youngstown will die a fast death, with little chance of growth.

It is a shame the only newspaper in town hates everything about YSU.

Truth be told, this last contract offer left open the amount that faculty would pay for their health care. How can anyone sign a contract that does not prescribe exactly what they would be paying for their healthcare? When asked what they would be paying the administration gave them no answer. I certainly would not sign anything like that. Why would anyone???

The faculty at YSU are among some of the lowest paid in the state. Look it up. I know we are among the poorest cities in Ohio, but YSU's tuition (even with the most recent increase) is still the lowest of the state universities in Ohio.

We all know this is about SB5 and nothing more. Kasich is pulling the Board of Trustees strings to push for a strike so public backlash helps those who support SB5. The admin wants to lock them into a crappy contract before SB5 goes down. We all know that. Let's all wait until the vote. If it passes, these issues will disappear because the unions will have absolutely no power. If SB5 is shot down the faculty can negotiate a fair contract. Let's not forget that the fact finder states the university is not in as much financial trouble as they are saying. Nobody mentions that. Let's also mention that the admin has stated they are taking a pay freeze for the upcoming year. There is a big difference between a pay freeze AND a pay cut. The administrators make the most money of the employees on campus. Why do they only take a freeze and not a cut? They also say they will pay the same as the faculty for their healthcare. Not the same percentage, but the same dollar figure. How is that fair? They make so much more money, but pay the same health care? Come on people, read between the lines. The admin wants everyone to takes cuts except themselves. Look at their raises. And no one is even mentioning ACE right now. Their contract is up too.
