Four parents apologize for Mooney cigars and champagne

The facts are:

1. The students did not initiate any of the action resulting in recriminations, they planned none of it and brought nothing with them to facilitate it.

2. The actions of the of the parents lacked criminal intent.

As a result the students suffered. . .the celebration and adulation of winning a state title was taken from them by actions beyond their control. While the Mooney Haters glory in the subsequent events. . the reality is clear.

Parochial parents, city schools at odds over busing

Well maybe we should close all the parochial schools and let Kasich figure out how to pay the cost to educate them. What does the state save on each kid now $7-8 -9000. Or, just give them back their tax dollars to educate their own kid, as they do in Canada and Europe.

Oil prices edge back up again

If the oil companies make.09 cents a gallon, I am the Madhatter! How much do they charge as "expenses" on their taxes, when they buy from companies they own. I'm an accoutant, when you hear of companies not paying taxesm it is because the tax laws allow them to "buy" from themselves and ceate a deductible expense Oil companies, setup drilling and service companies they own, buy from and then overcharge. . .getting the revenue down to a smaller company in a lower tax bracket. . .Get real! And, the oil depletion allowance that is another story. The U.S. oil reserves are second only to Saudi Arabia and our gas reserves are the largest in the world. Our laws ae setup to reduce access to those reserves and artificially force the price up on the consumer---in effect "taxing" the consumer, and profiting the oil company. They own Congress and protect themselves first!

'Don't call my bluff,' Obama warns Republicans

falconeddy, he is trying to tax the rich. . .the republicans are blocking that. If we went back to the tax rates of the Clinton era, their would be no debt. Clinton created 23 million jobs and paid on the debt. . .we had a surplus, until "W" got in and took care of his "fat cats" and oil companies and put us into two expensive wars. Remember when Iraqi oil was going to pay the cost, rfight, they are selling it to the Chinese and we fought and paid for their "right" to do so!

Jim Tressel’s 10-year reign in Columbus reaches its end

The SI article really raises some questions . . . the same ones that were popular during Watergate. What did they know and when did they know it. Pres. Cochran is quoted as well as YSU's compliance person . . .yet what was done? The Phar Mor stories with Monus handing out paychecks for work never done was common knowledge, again no consequences. And, if they truth be told the University personnel were not the only ones "not seeing anything" . . .
