Reading of banned books set at park

Another good read that has been banned over the years since WWI is "Johnny Got His Gun" by the infamous author, Dalton Trumbo. Give it a try. Easy read about a soldier who looses all of his limbs and all senses. The terrors of war will grasp any reader of this title. The Metallica song "One" is based upon this book.

DOLL HOUSE OF HORROR

Krista and household,

You rock. People are waaaay to sensitivo.....I had an upside-down cross with a devilhead mask in the front window a few years ago for Halloween and...........no complaints or bitching. (I live in the MetroParks Garden District) I have many religious friends and no complaints, just laughs. It was like WOW that is f-ing cool. I replaced every lightbulb in my house with red, orange, and blacklight bulbs. No kidding, our house looked creepy as hell from the passerby on the street. I am the only one on our street who decorates for holidays, and I'll probably pass out candy to 5+ kids, maybe. Have fun and decorate whatever you want. I'm a huge Nightmare Before Christmas fan and what if Oogie Boogie squashes an earwig....are the bug savers gonna complain...I hate earwigs, but I love bugs and spiders. I even recycle my Halloween decor and turn it into Christmas decor......... happy Oktober and have fun (f-off to those who can't have fun)

Lack of money may shut down Youngstown park and rec programs

I live in 'the' park district, and I am proud. This town needs to step up and make a move. Pick up the trash in your street and take a walk. Take back your town and stand up for yourself. We've all grown up here, and no matter what, we deserve a good place to stay. This is a good home. I'm going on 40 years old and, I see things happening in this town. Some people need to realize that this is a hometown and not just a place to reconcile differences. Families have grown here, not just to bring them up, but to bring them up in a good place......we call home. Please stay, and help......pick up the trash...look out your windows....check out the cars going in & out of the nieghbor's driveway...this all counts......

Webb: Prosecutor won’t pursue case involving student’s injuries

My son attended Odyssey School ofPossibilities and I find it hard to believe that any staff would use excessive force on a student. I always believed that it took a special kind of person to work with these troubled kids who may or may not have thr potential to cause serious bodily harm to themselves or staff. The staff at Odyssey was exceptional with my son and his special needs and very caring . I thank God for this school
