What former players or coaches are going to say something good about a super stud that has left their team...not I, because I am mad as hell he left!!! YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT THE CHARACTER OF THE kids and coaches you are talking too because they must be jealous now. Because if you are a real team player, then you want some super stars on the team to make you play better and have the team look better. Up until this point his accolades spoke for themselves. He doesn't owe those coaches anything...it's a dictatorship at Boardman...if you don't fall in their circle you are going to be screwed...he seen how they played his brothers, his friends, and how they were going to play him...all for what...Boardman coaches need to earn respect...not dictate respect...As for his parents, they made a wise decision...why have him stay and play at Boardman when we all know what the outcome was going to be...he received the highest honors on the team last year and he still on the back burner coming into this season. Now he will be at a place where Coach Rios will be able to showcase and teach him the game so that he is successful on the next level which Boardman wouldn't even have tried to do for him. Coach Rios is a disciplinarian and he is not going to tolerate undisciplined players (that is what Boardman coaches say about the colored boys). Dayne is not running away from discipline...just the coaches at Boardman who have trouble distinguishing between discipline and undercover discrimination.
There are all kinds of politics at Boardman...freshmen can't play varsity...In 2010 they had three boys over 6'2, athletic, fast, and seasoned football players and only one played. All three of those boys should have been wide receivers and Boardman should have been a force, but no...that was too many colored boys on the field. I'm not trying to bring out the race card...but if the talent is there black or white, they should play, no matter what grade level...quit trying to make players out of your chosen ones and play the best of what you have at all levels from kindergarten up to high school in every sport at BOARDMAN. Diversity is everywhere except at Boardman and they have the highest minority make up out of Canfield and Poland schools and Boardman still can't compete. Look at the Davis twins at Fitch you know they started at Boardman, but they told them they were too little for quarterback, running back, and receiver, but the two have verbally committed to the University Pittsburgh AS RECEIVERS...but you know the politics in Boardman!
As for the drugs. it’s not an issue...you all are trying to grab at straws to taint his name. but it won't affect anything, he comes FROM a good family and when the Head Coach from a Division 1 team comes and visit they will see...his brother is at Wisconsin now and he passed all of the character issues you all are bringing up...As I said before GO Dayne! GO Harding!
He knows what he salary was and is now, it's just not the best topic right now...Just think if he's making $700,000 now it is definitely doubled from what he was making last year.!

Dayne Hammond transferring is the best move his family could have made. Boardman politics go all the way back to their little league football, basketball, and baseball...if you're not part of the coaching staff, teaching staff, administrative staff (98% white) you will not excel for whatever reasons. All the students of color are limited on what they do and where they play. They are playing in positions they will never play. Boardman is still looking for the great ----- hope and it is not going to happen even the college and professional teams have to have diversity to WIN.
I remember one game last year Chase and Dayne Hammond was apart of a major comeback for the football team when they were losing and the very next game they were limited on the passes that was thrown to them...Boardman is going to miss that 6'6 frame, especially at safety because Dayne was better defensively then offensively. Also, Dayne had offers at colleges and universities, he can verbal right now...he does not need Warren Harding for that...it is already established. You don't have to have an ego because you know you are good at something...Character...while your trying to define character for him... define it for the coaches at Boardman who play mind games with these students...how many board members, council members, well established members of the community, teachers, principals of the school children make the team because their parents are in those positions...and they can't even play the sport...we are teaching great lessons in Boardman...Yes, I think it is a slap in Boardman''s face he chose Warren Harding over Mooney or Ursuline! GO DAYNE! GO HARDING!
