Probate court issues marriage licenses, distributes inheritances and orders guardianships for certain elderly and people with mental disabilities. If some of the fees for these services were increased it could help in the budgeting.
Makes you wonder? If employees aren't being replaced next year, maybe Belinky's domain is not only overpaid but overpopulated as well.
Judge Dellick and magistrate D’Apolito have at least made some efforts to cut costs. If the parents of the offending youths were held responsible for the court costs, they may even act like they care.
Thank you officers for your part in a job well done. Thanks go to the caller who cared enough to dial. If more folks, like Mr. Lukz, did the right thing, more of these miscreants would be where they belong.
With all of the vacant land in Youngstown, keep the B.J. Allan store on their side of the street.
Austintown does not need this headache, regardless of trustee Ditzler thinks. Just as we have some undesirable usage at the other I-80 exit, it doesn't mean we should cave into what Y-town and Allen want now at the expense of better use later. Even with the short term exceptions and short sighted thinking, it still appears to be more land grabbing by Youngstown.
Make your feelings clear to the township at the "hearing in January". I guess they are keeping the date secret until the last minute hoping for a low turnout.
Lifes2Short, Could it be that the depressed economy, increased fuel prices and less jobs to travel to, be some of the reasons for the decreased fatalities?
I personally feel that some of those overtime funds are justified. D.U.I. enforcement never hurts anyone but those that are caught. While it may be an inconvenience, of the three enforcement targets, it is good use of those funds.
The cycle safety is a joke. In our climate they only are ridden at best 5 months a year, by less than 20% of the drivers.
Helmet use is a rider option as the law allows. Seat belt enforcement is a sham to keep federal funding and to gain revenue for the court systems. I'm not saying they don't help save some lives, but if the idea is to increase safety, how about we target distracted cell users, those deafened by loud radio woofers, headphone muffled operators and this list of dangerous practices I could go on and on about. I have yet to hear of any accidents being caused by a driver using a seatbelt. I have seen helmet use contribute, because of impaired vision, to a few accidents.
To 'clowns and Alexinytown: You need to spend some time with therapists and rape councilors to understand the mental damage the victims go through. The denial, shame, rage and burying of memories are only a few reasons to delay confronting their attackers. It doesn’t matter if that comes at one month, year or decade afterward.
Once again, Atty. Ingram uses the term adult woman about when she saw him later in life. Was that to cover your tracks back when you called the 16 year old victim a willing and consensual adult. Tell me that’s your idea of adult. How many 16 yr. olds work at your firm. If you have daughters, that wouldn't bother you if 45 yr. old men had their sick pleasures with your teenagers. You and Giffin should be comfortable together in Hell.
Austintown wants to tear down Watson(Built in 1961) and Frank Ohl(Only a few years older, but still very workable), ignoring LynnKirk, Davis and several older buildings(Including the vacant Fitch/Middle school), in order to finalize the boards dream of a 'Campus Setting'.
They use the ruse of the state is giving us $23 mil, ignoring or minimizing the $27 million they need to borrow with long lasting loans paid with another levy.
Like the county, they don't seem to understand that many of us are un/or underemployed to afford another tax. Also like the county, they seem to be unable to understand the VOTER SAID NO.
Without any changes, the results will be the same in May, unless they manage some slicker presentation or outright lie to the people.

Finally, some of the death row scum will be dispatched.
I feel if any of them are displeased with the new method, they should be given the same that they gave their victims.
PS; Stan, an awfully large % of them have Hep C, maybe AID's or HIV, or some other disease and wouldn't qualify as donors.
