I don't recall that Mayor (TAX & SPEND) Arthur Magee showed all this remorse when Patton's IGA closed their store, displacing upwards of 50 (tax paying) employees.
I have mixed feelings on a law mandating paid sick leave. But I also find it ironic that those who are most vocal in denouncing said legislation are most likely receiving this benefit. This is the typical mentality of those who were lucky enough to succeed in the business world ("PAID SICK LEAVE IS OKAY FOR ME BECAUSE I AM VERY IMPORTANT").
Hey, Woody talk about name calling. Again, you display your Right Wing Wacko mentality. Also, you immediately assumed that I am a Democrat. Nothing could be further from the truth. I'd be embarrassed to be a member of the Democratic party, however, I would hang my head in SHAME if I were a Republican.
This is what the writer really means in the second part of his letter;
The second thing that upset me was the endorsement of A BLACK MAN by Congressman Ryan in last Sunday’s Vindicator. How could he endorse A BLACK MAN who thinks so little of his country that he won’t even display the American flag on his campaign plane? What is that thing THAT BLACK MAN has painted on the tail of his plane? THAT BLACK MAN also does not wear an American flag pin on his lapel. THAT BLACK MAN is out in the open about this but I wonder what else THAT BLACK MAN has on his agenda. I do not want to see Air Force One with A BLACK MAN in it. This is America and there is a great WHITE majority in this country that is proud of it.
Regarding Thursday's editorial, If you really believe what the PA State Gaming Control Board is saying in regards to the denial of a licence for Valley view Downs, I have some swamp land in Florida that I would like to sell you. It has been my opinion ever since the Shick family announced that they wanted to build a racino on their properties near the Ohio line that it would never come to fruition. My reasoning is that Ted Arneault, president and chief executive officer, of the Mountaineer racetrack/casino, a mere 45 miles to the southwest and Presque Isle Downs and Casino, approximately 70 to the north, is quietly exerting his clout to prevent the license from being granted. He knows that if Valley View was built, that he may as well close the doors to his facilities. I base this on the fact that the bulk of customers (suckers) who patronize Mountaineer are from Youngstown and the surrounding area and would never set foot in Arneault's place if Valley View was available to them. Also, Presque Isle Downs, because of its location on the lake, can only draw customers from 180 degrees while Valley View will have a 360 degree draw. Let me make one thing perfectly clear, I have no connection with the Shick family or the gaming industry and that my opinion is based solely on what I read in the Vindicator. Furthermore, I'm surprised that no one else has ever voiced this opinion.

Please rest assured, I am a proud white American.
