Can't you morons read? What part of the following statement don't you understand?
"Judge Maureen A. Sweeney of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court Tuesday dismissed the case against Larry Lee Smith AT THE REQUEST of Natasha K. Frenchko, an assistant county prosecutor."
Additionally, I think that the following info is erroneous; "in 1963 it earned national attention after it was burned to the ground". In 1963, I believe that the YC was still located in an upper floor of one of the bank buildings mentioned in the article. None of them burned to ground.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!! What a joke. This is not free money folks. It is tax payer's money. There is no guarantee that Sherman International (of Pennsylvania) will build anything on this acreage. It is a great opportunity for them to get their property cleaned-up, tremendously increasing the value at the expense of Ohio tax payers. The city of Campbell, to my knowledge, doesn't even have clause in the contract that will hold Sherman International's feet to the fire in the event that they default on their promise to build a mill on this site. A bit of advice to Mayor VanSuch and Senator Joe Schiavoni: Keep an eye on the players connected with Sherman International. Their past track records are quite shady.
That's it, $750 bail for this scofflaw with a criminal past? This is an insult to every law abiding citizen in the community. This guy lies in wait and ambushes the victim by running him over, then flees. The article does not mention the judge who imposed this ridiculous bail, but he should be ashamed of himself. I just pray that this guy doesn't hurt anybody else while he is out on bond.
WOW!!!!! The county is forced to borrow money to restore the courthouse. However, the commissioners, per a federal mandate from the Army Corps of Engineers and the Ohio EPA, are pissing away $34,000 per acre to restore/create a 3.7 acre swamp. It is no wonder why this country is so #@%&!# up.
WOW!!! What is wrong with this picture? The city, in their infinite wisdom, instead of condemning this unsafe dilapidated structure and insist that it be razed at the owner's expense, decided to buy it from their good buddy Frangos for $80,000. All this, under the guise of saving the facade for God only knows why. They are spending a total of $1,172,543 of taxpayer money ($80,000 for the purchase, $19,500 for a demolition plan, $803,490 from the state, and $269,553 local share) to make a parking lot. Not just any parking lot. ITS A PARKING LOT WITH A FANCY ORNATE FACADE.
And then the coup de grace, the board of control wants to raise $5.5 million for a gathering place.
Just about every local government agency in this area is flat broke, crime is running rampant, schools are in fiscal watch and firing teachers, and these "pie-in-the sky" dreamers want to waste taxpayer money on this ridiculous project.
Where is the condemnation from the Vindy editorial staff?
Dickten said the bottom line regarding Allegiant is that it’s “still a good service. It’s still a good deal.”
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? In the past I have flown Allegiant Air several times for travel to Youngstown, Ohio from the Tampa Bay area. Let me just say that I have never been a great proponent of this lousy airline's service and obscene methods of squeezing every last nickel out of their customers ($10 for a reserved seat, $5 for priority boarding, $15 booking fee unless you book at the airport, $2 for a glass of water in flight, etc., etc. etc), however, due to the convenience of flying directly to Youngstown, I capitulated and used Allegiant, even though the fares aren't as low as everyone thinks. Just for example, on my most recent trip to Youngstown, March 21, 2012, to attend a funeral, the fare was $178.79 (not that attractive for a one way ticket). The fare for the return flight would have cost me $215.00 on Allegiant Air. So instead of caving in to this ridiculous fare, as well as their crummy service, I opted to use a shuttle service to drive to Pittsburgh ($32.40 plus a $5 tip for the driver) and flew back to Tampa on United Airlines for $124.10 for a grand total of $161.50 (I even had a free glass of orange juice on the plane). Even though I never held this two-bit airline in high esteem, I have recommended Allegiant Air to friends and family because of the convenience, as mentioned above. So now, what do they do? Instead of improving service, they've decided to screw the customers out of more money by charging for carry on bags. But rest assured, their spokesman, Brian Davis has really shown how generous Allegiant Air can be by stating that passengers will be allowed to carry on a briefcase or a purse-- FOR FREE. You can bet that I will never fly Allegiant Air again, nor will I recommend it to anybody. Given Allegiant Air's arrogance, I doubt that it matters to them.
Plan would add hundreds more seats to Austintown racino
Hey Flick,
Your same song is getting old. Come up with a different post or shut the hell up.

Put a call in to Paul Ryan, I'm sure he would come back to Y'town to wash the sauce pots.
