Privatizing prisons is a scam

Most of the arguments against Issue 2 are just a way to confuse people from solving a problem that has been plaguing Ohio for 40 years. The same false arguments are used by both parties when they are in the majority and trying to keep a rigged process for their benefit. The Non-partisan Redistricting Commission will be made of 4 republicans, 4 democrats, and 4 others; It excludes elected officials, party leaders, and paid lobbyists; It works in the open with public scrutiny at all stages; Districts follow guidelines of geographic compactness and political balance. It is disbanded after maps are drawn so salaries end. Issue 2 is fairer than the current 1-party system.

Most of the arguments against Issue 2 are just a way to confuse people from solving a problem that has been plaguing Ohio for 40 years. The supposed problems are less odious than the current maps which negate many votes. Voters do not have to remain victims of the gerrymandering that politicians favor. YES on Issue 2 and VOTERS CHANGE THE SYSTEM. With fair maps voters will choose their representatives instead of political parties choosing their voters. Issue 2 has been well thought out with many citizens and non-partisan organizations in agreement. Yes on Issue 2.

Group gives Husted failing grades

I want elected officials who are accountable to all Ohio citizens, not just one party. Gerrymandering and voting rules that favor certain voters rig our elections. VOTERS have an opportunity to clean part of the dirty system politicians have created. A YES on Issue 2 ends gerrymandering.

Courts slow GOP attack on voting

For 40 years the League of Women Voters has sought a bi-partisan solution to the problem of gerrymandering, but the dominant party is never agreeable. They care more about their self-interest than the communities they are supposed to serve. Now, they are doing it again. Ohioans deserve better. Support Issue 2 to tell them we’re tired of their games at our expense. It doesn't solve every voting injustice, but at least gerrymandering is ended.

Brown holds decisive lead in NE Ohio

I want elected officials who are accountable to Ohioans. Gerrymandering and big money rig our elections. Let’s not squander this opportunity for voters to change the system and make elections fair again. A YES on Issue 2 is the right direction.

Issue 2 discussion set at Park Vista

The League of Women Voters has tried working out bi-partisan solutions to fair redistricting for the last 40 years. The party in power is never agreeable. Instead of remaining victims of this bad system, Ohio voters have the opportunity to change the system themselves. Issue 2 has been well thought out with many citizens and non-partisan organizations in agreement. I’ll vote Yes on Issue 2.

10 things to know about election

Democracy is about equality and fair competition, but when our legislators draw the boundaries of congressional districts, the current system lets them lock in a competitive advantage for their own party. Voters are unable to remove poor performers. Issue 2 is a common sense approach to reforming this distorted undemocratic process. Issue 2 will make redistricting transparent and publicly accountable.. Issue 2 is about good governance not party politics. Support Issue 2.
