Very simply put, Jim Tressel does not have the qualifications to become a university president. His record is tarnished and would only add to the problems Youngstown is facing. It is time for real leadership in academics and not just sports. Perhaps there is someone at the university now who values all that Youngstown State has to offer and has a doctorate related to university education. Here's hoping the right person is found this time who honors his/her three year contract. Dunn should leave now.

Dr, Dunn should be ashamed of himself for accepting the Youngstown presidency in the first place. It is criminal that the university has spent so much time and money and he can just walk away. The public should be made aware of just exactly what was in his contract that enables him to do this. The city of Youngstown is sorely lacking in good leadership. Perhaps that is why so many of our children have to leave the area to seek work in other cities. We need to clean up all the corruption and poor leadership if we ever want Youngstown to become a positive community.

This certainly is a sad comment on Youngstown State. What just happened here? I take it that if you are an administrator with an inflated salary you can just do whatever you want. SIU can have Dr. Dunn. They better watch out because if something better comes along he will do the same to them. There are good candidates out there but our trustees certainly didn't choose one with this guy. He really should be ashamed of himself. Leaders should be held to a higher standard but that isn't happening in this case..

Southern Illinois university should be aware that their new president does not have much integrity. The trustees should look for someone who pledges to stay with YSU for longer than seven months. What this guy has done is almost criminal. Certainly we can find someone better to lead. I hope we don't have to pay for another inflated presidential search such as the one that brought us this looser. Quit wasting our money,

Doesn't he have a contract? If this is true, it seems unethical, especially with his huge salary and perks. The president of a university should be setting a good example for young people to follow The YSU board of trustees need to be aware that their decisions of late have not proven to be the best for the university. YSU is a great place and needs dedicated leadership. A true leader should be above reproach.

The administration of Youngstown state should be ashamed of such low salaries for limited service staff. I am sure the full professors would not like such a low wage. Also, to the idiot who says those that can't teach, I suggest he try putting up with what passes as students today and see how long he lasts. Educators are vital to society and should be valued not degraded. Our country owes a great debt to the public schools and universities and it is time to begin showing how much they matter.

This building sure is a nicer space than that dump in the McGuffey Plaza. I do not know how the workers tolerated that building all those years. I think it is great that this space is being used. .

A church closing is a very sad event. The Catholic Church wonders why Catholics are leaving the church in droves. This auction helps to explain why. How many beautiful churches in Youngstown are now closed. The immigrants who built these churches sacrificed so that these structures could stand as places of worship. It is difficult to comprehend why something could not be found to use these structures. I hope we don't hear any more about giving money for building funds at any of the parishes which are still open.

Attorney Mangie, Your comments seem very Rebublican. The truth of the matter is that President Obama is doing a fine job and was re-elected following a Republican era that was terrible and you cannot stand it. Don't even get me started on the Bush era. The republican party has tried to block almost everything this president has attempted to accomplish. The voters need to remember this when they go to the polls and vote Democrat!!

The president of the United States came to Ohio State to give an inspiring commencement address. This was an honor for the state and the university. It is time for people to respect the office of the presidency. He was trying to encourage the future leaders of the country to do a better job of getting along. Perhaps that is a lesson we all need to learn.
