The administration of Youngstown state should be ashamed of such low salaries for limited service staff. I am sure the full professors would not like such a low wage. Also, to the idiot who says those that can't teach, I suggest he try putting up with what passes as students today and see how long he lasts. Educators are vital to society and should be valued not degraded. Our country owes a great debt to the public schools and universities and it is time to begin showing how much they matter.

This building sure is a nicer space than that dump in the McGuffey Plaza. I do not know how the workers tolerated that building all those years. I think it is great that this space is being used. .

A church closing is a very sad event. The Catholic Church wonders why Catholics are leaving the church in droves. This auction helps to explain why. How many beautiful churches in Youngstown are now closed. The immigrants who built these churches sacrificed so that these structures could stand as places of worship. It is difficult to comprehend why something could not be found to use these structures. I hope we don't hear any more about giving money for building funds at any of the parishes which are still open.

Attorney Mangie, Your comments seem very Rebublican. The truth of the matter is that President Obama is doing a fine job and was re-elected following a Republican era that was terrible and you cannot stand it. Don't even get me started on the Bush era. The republican party has tried to block almost everything this president has attempted to accomplish. The voters need to remember this when they go to the polls and vote Democrat!!

The president of the United States came to Ohio State to give an inspiring commencement address. This was an honor for the state and the university. It is time for people to respect the office of the presidency. He was trying to encourage the future leaders of the country to do a better job of getting along. Perhaps that is a lesson we all need to learn.

No one is focusing on rumors from the past. Our current elementaries have no art and music teachers. All I was saying is that if we are in such dire need perhaps salaries of administrators should be considered along with everything else. Many people feel that the Poland schools are top heavy with administrators who earn a very generous salary.

Sure am glad we passed that huge levy so that we can continue paying our administrators such large salaries. Here's hoping that this superintendant can restore some of the academic programs that were recently taken away. He will have his hands full trying to bring that high school back.

This is a very sad comment on our society today. Everyone is to blame here, especially the adults who allowed teens to drink underage. Parents need to become parents to guide their children and these types of sad situations will not happen. Athletes should set a good example for those younger to emulate. Coaches should work on helping young people make good choices. All of this could have been prevented.

Tim Ryan has done a very respectable jof as congressman. Why all the negative posts? He certainly would be a better governor than what we have now. I am very happy with the job he is doing in Washington and wish him well in whatever he decides. My experiences with him have all been very positive and he seems to care about the people of the valley.

We are such a divided and jaded nation. President Obama is doing his best and no one wants to hear about change. He was elected and deserved his inaguration. I might add that it was one of the classier one I have seen. We should thank God that we live in a democracy where such an event can take place.
