I don't know you but the focus on issues that were unrelated to basic education was something that always frustrated me during my tenure on the board.
The special interest groups tend to get their issues and projects addressed, funded and implemented at the expense of the general welfare and mission of the school system....leaving little wiggle room to focus on projects that rightfully deserve attention.
Perhaps the systems workforce should be asked to forgo wage increases, pay a larger percentage of health care expenses, etc. as a way of stretching the budget to fund critical needs.
I have some ideas to offer but I am afraid that no one is even interested as I will be too outspoken and opinionated...an people (the status quo) does not like it.
