Does anyone realize the popularity of tattoos these days? It's not a certain 'kind' of person getting inked. It's ALL walks of life - and yes, they are artists! Just turn on the TV - how many shows are on about these talented individuals? I have no idea what Peck's Austintown business looks like, but my guess is, it's a nice place. HOWEVER, I don't think I would brag to people about getting a tattoo in "downtown Youngstown" (or as most of you call it "Thugstown"). Just let the council keep isolating everyone - they'll continue to have vacant buildings, homeless waundering the town. Yep - that's what they need. Sigh....
OMG - seriously? This fair has gone on for over 100 years, and you don't want anyone to make any money? I guess the property value isn't worth anything, since it's only agricultural. I guess insurance for liability is free. And security, and clean up, and hiring what is probably unemployed people for a number of days to be parking lot attendants. Or give people a little extra cash. I wasn't aware that you were privy to their financial statements as to where everything goes. But since you're a DEMOCRAT, then you're one of those poor, poor people who doesn't get their way, so has to complain about it. Yea, those RICH Republicans - oh, wait a minute: I'm struggling to make ends meet, grew up in the Youngstown area, I lean more towards Republican, and I'm not complaining cause they make money, or you don't. Quit blaming someone's belief system (conservative vs. liberal) for your own lack of money. Everyone has choices - it was your choice to be liberal, and my choice to be more in the middle-ground (more conservative than liberal). And I now live in the middle of LIBERAL CENTRAL (Washington, DC) and they complain alot less than people in Youngstown do. Just move if you don't like it -
I 'usually' stay in Boardman when I visit, so I don't inconvenience my family. My mother is in a nursing home dying, so I visit the area quite often. Why should I contribute to an airport that really is of NO benefit to anyone? The Youngstown area has been trying to 'rebuild' since the steel mills closed! Still living in the past - and the progress that's been made has been beneficial to the politicians pockets. People need to stop listening to their b.s. and see how much money THEY are making. Since they've bled the valley residents dry, now they'll nickel and dime anyone who DARES visit the area. I'll make my trip a 'day' visit and stay. I'll stay in Pennsylvania - I figured it out and their taxes are less. (At least Pittsburgh has revitalized itself, unlike Y-town - I'll pay them the extra $$).
The only way Youngstown can 'fight back' is remove the idiots that pretend they are 'in charge' and run and hide behind their speechwriters when something tragic like this happens. I just can't believe that the people of Youngstown think they are being protected by this dimwits.
Let's see - and HOW many elderly people have they found DEAD in the snow from shoveling their driveways? Yea, fine them. They should be out there shoveling. Some people are clueless - this snow is excessive. Comply or DIE. Please.....show some common sense.
I agree - I hope he never needs to 'test' out the theory of no firestation, or limited firefighters. Maybe he should ride-along and see what happens first hand - and then think what if it were his house? But then again, thinking must be a novel concept on his part.....
I spent last week in the Youngstown area to take care of my mother. I live in the Washington, DC area, and it's no WONDER Youngstown made the so-called "Forbes list". Gas was more expensive in Youngstown, as was food than in the Washington DC area! Historically, the Youngstown area has been SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper. Now, it outdoes DC by a storm! It's almost like they're trying to drive people out of the area, and make things MORE difficult for them!
I did see more SOLD signs in front of houses than I've seen in almost a year, so to me - that is a sign of improvement.
Too many people believe everything they read - and of course EVERYTHING that's on the internet is truth. NOT!
I'm not sure why the Youngstown area is so much more expensive than DC - I'd talk to your government politicians as to what THEY think the future of Youngstown really is.....
I went to the website. EASY refueling at your local Hydrogen refueling center. Going to be a while before anyone in Youngstown gets one, since the closest refueling facility is in Columbus! Now, if you were in California or Canada, you're in good shape!
Must be a REALLY slow news week for this to be such a 'hit' on vinday.com!!
BTW: whatever happened to the idiot who drug the person down Midlothian under his car, thru the McDonald's drive-thru, and then took off? Never hear anything about that, other than he was arrested.

Do you think people should be fined for not shoveling their sidewalks?

Would you consider buying the new electric Chevrolet Volt, expected to cost about $40,000 with a $7,500 tax credit?
