Why are we complaining about how the information was obtained? Who really cares about the petty stuff? Two people are dead and your complaining about information that is not even in the article. You are nit picking about the unimportant. Why not have some compassion for the family and friends of the two that are no longer with them. You know for a fact that if it was someone that you knew and there was nothing said about them in the paper or on the news you would be *itching. Who cares how they got the information, just be happy that you have something to complain about. Without the paper or the news you wouldn't, right! Guess that some people are not happy unless they have something to complain about. Go Vindy!!
Very sad :( And you know that all of us in Trumbull County are paying for her and her child(ren). Every one of us working is paying for her welfare and the one's that need and do not abuse the system, can't get a fair shake. The shameful thing is that she will probably get a slap on the wrist and have her children back with her in a matter of weeks for something like this to happen again or worse. I have 3 kids of my own, have been a single mother for over 12yrs now and have always known what my kids were doing.
I have to agree with apollo. Every police department in the country wants the people of their community to respect the police in their department. They are continually complaining that they do not get the respect or approval from the community. Tell me how they are supposed to do this when they are doing "exactly" what they are supposed to be stopping. I do have simpathy for his family and friends. We are not critizing him as a father, husband, uncle, etc. What the "community" has an issue with, is the way he died. He died doing what he was hired to prevent, what he investigated on a daily basis. When he was supposed to be upholding the law instead he broke the law and paid the ultimate price.
i have to agree with oldmangrump & celeste.this is a tragedy but as you can see, who do you think they are going to end up blaming for this accident. it will end up being the poor man who was doing his job, sober! i'm glad that i wasn't in an accident and he had to respond and do the investigation for mine. who's to say he would have been sober enough to give an accurate report.
it is obvious that he was drunk. whether he was wearing a seat belt doesn't matter right now, the fact that he was drinking and driving a vehicle that tax payers are paying for for his own personal use is what bothers me. he wrecks a car that homeowners are paying for and the fact that he was, indeed, DRUNK and above the "legal" limit for us "ordinary" people bothers me. i have to agree with bigdog0480.
how is it that an officer who is on call and using a company vehicle gets away with drinking and driving. if he had done it this time, how many other times had he done it? it is very unfortunate that he had been killed and i feel for his family. i just wonder who is going to pay for the city owned vehicle that he totaled in this accident? are the tax payers going to have to pay for it and him being an accident investigator, you would have thought that he would know better. don't you think that he would have been on the scene of accidents similar to his and had more common sense than to drink and drive. statics say that most accidents happen within 5 miles of your own home. everyone talks about how wonderful he was but guess what, looks can be deceiving. maybe he wasn't as perfect as everyone thought.
