I am a parent and I completely oppose the expansion of these vouchers. Our current state legislation is looking to destroy public education under the guise of 'choice means better schools for the children'. In reality, school choice is making a few people VERY rich, and making it harder for the public schools to continue their good work. Unfortunately, once everyone realizes how bad this voucher nonsense is, it will be a lesson learned at the expense of our current young students' education.
This story has sickened and haunted me ever since it was first reported this summer, and now I'm sick all over again. 10 years in prison is a JOKE. There is no punishment heinous enough for this man. When this story was first reported, CSB did have an overwhelming response from people giving and wanting to help. I believe the police dept involved also took a huge collection for toys, gifts etc. Then a few weeks later, the paper did a very helpful story on trying to understand how just an unimaginable crime like this can be committed. no words do justice to this evil, but the article was interesting. I'm shaking as I type this because of how awful this boy's plight is....WE ALL must do more to protect our children!!! I've said it before, but it's worth repeating: It would have to literally be over my dead body that someone would hurt my child. If you're still alive, then you have an obligation to protect your child!!!!!!
To "sickofitall": if you are trying to look at this rationally, and not emotionally, why do you not try and proofread your comments first before posting? Hearsay is one word. "It's", when used as a contraction needs an apostrophe...and this is just for starters.... I do not have time to "grade" your post. My point: your simple minded comment and your attempt at "rationalizing" is even worse than your grammar.
MOTHERS: PROTECT YOUR PRECIOUS CHILDERN!!!! I was horrified to see on the front page today, yet ANOTHER child tortured and beaten at the hands of the mother's bad choice for a "man" in her life. DISGUSTING..... I pray for this poor girl, who isn't even 2 yet, but knows more horror than anyone should have to endure in a lifetime.
NO excuses. Too many adults who are given the privilege to care for children are failing miserably. If someone was going to try and hurt one of my children, it would literally have to be over my dead body. WE MUST DO BETTER TO PROTECT OUR CHILDREN!!!!!
