Poland has a good fire department, but they are not volunteer, they get paid per call. That being said Campbell fire department is a good department who else in the state would respond to a call with 1 man on duty. The City is violating OSHA,& NFPA regulations every time that happens . The City should look back to the days when the fire department had full-timers work the station and aux. fireman responding straight to the call. Pay them $8-$10 bucks an hour they help out at the call & then go home when there done. As far as some of the comments on this board go to a council meeting and voice your concerns.
Interesting blogs! First of all, Jaunita Rich did not discredit Jack Dill- He did that himself. Yes she did have a hand in the appointment of Miles as finance director. City council did not consider the financial budget of the mayor-fact. Really, what does he think he is -an accountant!? Oh yeah---he is! This council has had years to get the city out of fiscal emergency. They haven't been able to do it. We voted for change in our city and we deserve better than council members that run to attorneys instead of attending scheduled council meetings. Enough is enough. You all need to work together. You have abandoned houses being torn down, a nightclub that has been an eyesore for YEARS is torn down, streets are being paved, and Grants are being filed for by the city at the mayors request. He is cooperating with all departments to move them forward and they are working with him. They were even willing to go without their paychecks to support their mayor. That speaks loudly to me! Miles- if you love the city of Campbell, let an experienced finance director do what you haven't been able to. Quit your post please and drop the lawsuit.

Volunteer means no compensation at all.. So campbellcitizen why don't you go down to the fire department and put in an application to be a volunteer
