Vallourec workers air grievances today before unionization vote

Remember what it was like BEFORE they came in and spent millions. Now your not happy? They want to spend another 85 million, and you want to be greedy. If the grass is so green on the other side go get that job. Same old mentality we have had in this valley for decades. This is todays economy. You can't tell a company how to run or what to do. They don't ask for your opinion.

Court rejects condemned Ohio inmate's appeal

Wasn't there a time in Ohio where we used to inject a bullet. That always worked before. With great speed if you have more than one gun. Fastest way I can think of. Not much pain.

Mahoning commissioners to have hearings on sales tax increase

Just shop at the county or state with the lowest taxes. Pennsylvania doesn't charge tax on cloths. Think how close you are to alternative choices.

Panel explores converting vehicles to natural gas

As long as you use the tax money generated on a gallon of gas there isn't any way the government can afford to let you use electric or natural gas in your cars. If you look overseas you will already find American made cars like the Fusion that get over 50 mpg. They aren't allowed to sell them in the states. How do you plan on fixing bridges and roads? Wake up. Pennsylvania is raising there tax ten cents a gallon January first 2014.

Antonini sings like a canary

Reading these posts shows us how much intelligence there is in the valley. If you go back and read through them, we are blessed with these people running the government. Sure have to look hard to duplicate this group.

‘Use it or lose it’ must be enacted

When you go to a 100% private sector school system. This will change. With more and more charter schools, and online schools K-12 education will change. Public schools will be a thing of the past. Then your Youngstown teachers have the stones to talk strike like they are hurting. Can't get blood out of a rock! They will suck the last breath of life out of the schools. All of them that are public. Don't forget to go to Buckeye.org to see what your favoriate worker on the dole of the taxpayer brings in. Firefighters and police are just as bad raking in the bug bucks. Where else can you retire and get the same job for the same pay. Were still getting that Skyscraper from Islay's. Double dipped! See it starts at home! Don't blame Washington. Your happy with the way it runs in your own town by your friends and neighbors.

Court orders new trial for man convicted of murdering baby

What a joke the justice system is getting to be. How about protecting witnesses from gang retalitations. We the taxpayers have to pay for a new trial. Is his attorney being paid by the State of Ohio too?

School report cards show mixed results for Valley schools

Can't expect the students to get good grades when the system itself gets 5 F's. Nice job. I'm very proud to say I am a product of the Youngstown School System! They must need more money and a new contract to improve their scores. We sure pay for non preformance. The system should be ashamed of itself. Teachers and administrators! Get less pay more! I'm sure everyone in the system will have an excuse. They are improving. Let's raise our property taxes to reward them.

Penn National cuts slot machines to be installed at Austintown racino

They didn't loose 12.2 million. They just didn't make as much money as they thought they would by 12.2 million. Now how much money did they make because it sure wasn't written in the story!

State raises doubts about Liberty's future

I bought a house in Liberty two years ago. Now everywhere I look they are short of or out of money. Put levies on the ballot for specific things. Police, Fire, Roads, Schools etc. If we want them we vote for them. My pockets aren't getting any deeper. I have to live within my budget. So do the schools and township. Sorry but it's true. I can't afford any more!
