Woman accused of punching 16-year-old during organized fight

ELPOLLO talk about Ignorance maybe you should reread your comment. Its nice to know that you are able to intelligently express yourself by going into a rant such as that of a 5 year old. You are the one who mentioned the westside hood, so excuse me for referring to that as a gang. But you are also the one who stated that the police should worry about that instead of on a fist fight. Its a shame you think its acceptable that an adult punches a juvenile. And by the way my entire family is law enforcement, so as far as anyone getting away with what you call "REAL" crime is completely false. I enforce laws everyday. I do not call the police on neighbors for petty things. But an adult punching a kid is not a little thing. And as far as innocent until proven guilty, I never said she was guilty. My response was to your ridiculous comment that the police shouldn't worry about a fist fight and should worry about the Westside hood. So if you want to stoop to calling names, so be it. It just shows your ignorance and immaturity. I am fed up with people constantly telling police what they should or should not be enforcing. And I do not think you can deny you said that. I will not stoop to your level and get into name calling and juvenile antics so this is the last response I will leave on this issue.

Woman accused of punching 16-year-old during organized fight

ElPollo, maybe you should go to school to be an Officer before you judge. If a grown woman hits a 16 year old she deserves to be arrested. Laws are laws and if you break them there are consequnces. I know accountability is a thing of the past and I am sure you feel you know better than all police Officers and probably the courts, but I bet you won't step up to do their job. You would rather just tell them HOW to do there job. I am pretty sure if the gangs are here, they are trying to address them. However, they have to have evidence of crimes and build cases, because if not, people like you criticize and file lawsuits. Why don't you walk a mile or better yet stick to what you do for a living and let them do their jobs. The courts and citizens sure don't make their jobs any easier.

Democrats demonize the rich

The last time I looked the Middle Class is the backbone of this country. As a whole we pay more taxes than anyone. Without the middle class, the rich could not continue to get richer and there would be no benefits for the poor or criminals who choose not to work. Get off your high horse and realize that the rich get tax breaks because of all the ways they can legally get out of paying taxes or get breaks on things that the middle class cannot or has to pay. For example, you get a new boat, its a tax write off because you entertain clients. You go vacation and do business one day or less and its a tax write off. You go out to dinner or buy a vehicle, its a tax write off. The poor or lazy get benefits and free health care that the middle class makes too much to receive. The middle class are who support this country and all of your luxuries. Give me a break, you are pathetic and give honest hard working upper class people a bad name and obviously do not appreciate the hard working people of the middle class. Oh and by the way I do vote Republican sometimes, so don't give me crap about Democrats.

Will right to work haunt gov?

My niece lives in a RTW state. Never took a day off sick and never late for work. Got hurt outside of work and when she took her doctors slip in stating she needed a leave they fired her on the spot. No questions asked and no explanations. Right to work my..., well its right to screw over anyone an employer wants. Just because some people work for decent companies doesn't mean everyone does and with limited employment opportunities its not so easy to just go find another job. So do not try to tell me that RTW will not allow companies to treat workers like second class citizens and take advantage of people. Oh and by the way she was told by legal counsel that they can get away with firing her because she had no protection for an injury received outside of work.

Racino work begins in Austintown

What ever happened to accountability for our own actions. Casinos, Racinos do not hold a gun to people's heads and force them to go there. That is a choice adults make on their own. Just like bars do not create alcoholism, McDonalds does not make people fat, and guns do not kill people on their own. People make those decisions and carry out those decisions. People are RESPONSIBLE for their actions. Its time we quit blaming everyone else for the dumb things we do. If you work for a living you have the right to decide where and when to spend it. As far as the lot lizards, I am hoping the Racino draws a an audience that will not support their choice of careers.

Two views of the sales-tax issue

Being the wife of a Sheriff's Deputy, I must say the ignorance as to what the Deputies make is amazing as well as the ignorance on how PERS works. First let's look at their wages. A manager at Mcdonald's makes more then a deputy, and not to degrade anyone but do you think these jobs are even comparable. The newer Deputies make barely above minimum wage to deal with the criminals that break into your homes, assault your family members or steal your things that you worked to obtain. In regards to PERS, Deputies pay into it and the money is matched. Isn't that the same as a private sector 401K? Its funny that those who want to criticize the Deputies and complain they don't earn their money or that they don't deserve fair pay are the first ones to call when they need help or the ones who have been residents of the County Jail. Well when its you or your loved one that needs them someday, please don't fret when it takes them 1 hour or more to respond because they had to lay so many off that they do not have anyone available to help you right now. If you live in a community where you have your own police department, well don't get upset when the guy who raped your wife or daughter or threatened your life is walking the streets because there weren't enough Deputies to cover the jail. And keep in mind that although the Sheriff's Department takes a large portion of this tax they also generate income through a variety of ways. If the tax doesn't pass then this will also be in jeopardy because they will not have the staff to follow through on those contracts, meaning even less money. Instead of punishing the working people, why not vote for the tax and get rid of the politicians who have helped create this mess. Vote for the tax and vote in new commissioners instead of using the Sheriff's Department as the scapegoat!
