I have managed to get front row tickets for shows including The Police, Kiss, Prince, and other huge acts... yet I couldn't get a single ticket for Elton in Youngstown? Pathetic.
That was not right that the Covelli Centre decided to delay the internet sales. That threw off people like me who were ready to buy at 10. Who gives a s*it if one of their friends in line was waiting to buy tickets, I was ready to buy the $139 tickets.
I'll go see Elton elsewhere and have a better time in a better city.
You should see the flocks of YSU kids that walk down from the dorms to downtown on any given night. I'm sure there are lots of crimes we don't hear about in the news!
I can't think of anything downtown to do that doesn't involve drinking... not including the occasional event at Powers. Downtown is nothing but bars, law offices, and jail cells.
I get out a lot. I prefer going the extra distance and going out in Pittsburgh or Cleveland. I have a good group of friends and we take turns being DD.
It's embarassing the way the video portrayed downtown. The cameraman could have pointed in a different direction to avoid grouping couples or not interviewed people drinking outside. And my God... whoever hired that narrator needs fired LOL.
Oh, and this video is an embarassment to Youngstown. I loved the people making out in the background in the Draught House clip. And the dude with a beer bottle OUTSIDE. People just walking anywhere they desire without care to cars. Classy.
Downtown is a large, pathetic watering hole. There are no "posh" establishments downtown. Rosetta Stone is nice and so is Imbibe... but they're not really "exclusive" or "posh". The Youngstown Club is a nice establishment.
Downtown 36 is on their last leg... there is no way they will remain in business much longer due to Gossip taking all their business. I was there Saturday and doubt there was more than 30 people there, when a year ago you couldn't have even gotten in at the time I arrived.
