thetruth179 "Pay increases are a must with this years budget"
How are we going to pay for these raises? Tax revenue is low and local governments have no way of controlling costs
I know how they could've avoided pay cuts! By voting Yes on Issue 2!

I thought Bobby Hagan was the champion of the middle class? HE is hell bent against drilling into the Shal creating 200,000 jobs for the valley. Bobby "Buckwheat" Hagan has done nothing to help the valley, he is just living off the state dollar and spewing Liberal rhetoric. He is worthless. Name one job he has ever brought to the Valley

If Ted Strickland supported fracking do you think half of those protestors would be there? Probably not, John Kasich could support saving a baby kitten from a tree and you people would protest it. This area is about to see the biggest manufacturing boom in America since the mills left. The economy will flourish. Studies have shown that fracking does nothing to contaminate water supplies. I see no consequential risks involved with drilling. If you don't like natural gas then have your home run on wind power, disconnect your gas line and move on. There are 22 new found millionares in Columbiana County due to leasing their land. You know how much tax revenue that brought to the County? With the new jobs, crime will go down, poverty will go down, and our education system and social system will prosper...If you don't like the fracking get out

Shale jobs are estimated to reach 200,000 within the next 20 years in the "Rust Belt" with areas that have had stagnant unemployment Fracking and the Shale industry are a Godsend. Read today's Vindy article about those who were arrested disrupting business. None are from Youngstown, they were from West Virginia and other outside areas.

Hey FD, is that what you have to resort to
"Ryan: when you graduate, and get into the REAL WORLD, your views wont be as distorted as now, because you might have to get a job, bust your rump........., my college friend, your opinion will matter to me."
Sorry Cheif I worked 3 jobs during the summer and currently work two. I pay my way, my entire paycheck on friday went towards books.....I paid cash for my car and pay for all the repairs, gas insurance, etc. I bust my rump. Oh and besides those 2 jobs I will have during fall working 35 hours a week I am taking 8 classes (thats 23 semester hours) yeah so i guess you think I dont bust my "rump". Oh and besides that I work side jobs, I cut grass for neighbors and do leave cleanup. Oh and when winter comes, I clear driveways. All to pay my way through school and survive.
Thats the difference between my side and your side. No one on my side in the commenters personally tried to degrade Matthew, they came at the arguement with facts. Yet all of you think "Oh Ryan is a spoiled college student. However, it is quite the contrary. Oh and I also am active in several student organizations. So with school and everything on my plate I easily put in 60-70 hours of work( whether it be organization based, job based, or homework.) I am always working.
I think you owe me an apology, and next time dont judge someone until you know the entire story.....
Oh and I don't hate safety workers. Two of my good friends are firefighters. So tell me how I hate them??
EXACTLY Enough with the rhetoric and assumptions and quit trying to personally attack a college student. Frankly its pathetic and even more pathetic that I called you out on everything you tried to attack me on.

What a great crowd on Saturday ready for change! There are people who are sick and tired of the same old typical Mahoning County BS....as for Kasich he has no connection with the Koch Brothers. as for everyone else, go ahead and turn a blind eye to the corruption of the MCDP it is why the Valley has been a barren wasteland full of crime and poverty for the past 40 years and will continue to be for the next 40...

Lolz wow. I'm in tears i'm laughing so hard. How does anyone take Carlstaatz seriously. He can't be serious....funniest anti GOP statement I have ever heard...It would put more money in taxpayers pocket if anything because it would cut county administrative expenses....Auditor Yost is not coming at this in a political sense but an Accounting sense....The Auditors office is to look and find ways the state can save money

THe Jobs Budget passed the Ohio House and will pass the Senate, his budget is balanced, so essentially yes it gets implemented for fiscal year 2012 and YES it will be balanced from the getgo...
Barack Obama is on the record saying he wants gasoline to be $5 a gallon so people will drive less and be forced to purchase Hybrids.
Oh but wait I thought he was friendly to the middle class....
May 19, 2011 at 10:25 a.m.
If we end tax subsidies to Oil companies, how will they pay for this exploration? Oh gee I know raise the prices of gasoline and the middle class will continue to suffer.
How bout instead we cut one of our HUNDREDS of entitlement programs and see where that goes? Real solutions not just talking points....
Politicians are to worried about their job security instead of their country's future. Paul Ryan is not afraid to tackle the big issues and face the challenges that may not be popular.....
Kasich has in his first 4 or 5 months set up this area and state for economic success. So yes use the talking points the unions and Dems give you. But in the end read SB5, the jobs budget, and Governor Kasichs plans then actually form a valid opinion not one based on rhetoric
