Maybe Brandon should focus on the race in Columbiana county that he supposedly is qualified for and supposedly didnt move to the county for. Hagan is smart and knows someone with experience is a better fit for a state central committee person during an major election. Maybe Brandon should try to get some real world experience then run for office.

What people are failing to realize when complaining about the cost is that currently the district is maintaining two grass fields (current spartan stadium and the location of the planned stadium where soccer currently plays). That's $40-$80k per year to maintain so at $80k x 10 years is $800k plus it saves money in not having to pay to make the old stadium safer. Go Spartans. Hope to see this project succeed. If Boardman had the attitude in the late 90s that there was already an auditorium at the middle school we wouldn't have a state of the art performing arts center right now. This is well overdue and deserves the community's support

This kid is nothing more then a career politician wannabe. Political science major with a "consulting firm" . Still a student with no real world experience. On top of the fact that he moved to Columbiana county to run go auditor because that was the only seat he could run for and get endorsed for. Pretty sad actually. I would have more comfort with Bobby Hagan as a democrat representative in Columbus then some kid who has his sights set as a career politician. What qualifications does he have for Auditor? Is he an accountant? NO is he a finance guy? NO Does he have management experience? NO

Millions of dollars? Really please tell me where you find that. It would be more costly to contract it out because the police departments, who are already understaffed, would have to pay their officers overtime....

Hey Richard Lewis have some respect and some intelligence, the YSU Police Department is a real police department. Those men and women do their jobs like everyone else. They aren't the problem
As for Mr. Dunn he is within his rights if his contract doesnt stipulate he has to stay there three years. If anyone is at fault it's the attorney's that wrote the contract. It is shady him leaving but people's lives change and situations change. Southern Illinois is more then double the size of YSU so the money probably is doing the talking.

thetruth179 "Pay increases are a must with this years budget"
How are we going to pay for these raises? Tax revenue is low and local governments have no way of controlling costs
I know how they could've avoided pay cuts! By voting Yes on Issue 2!

I thought Bobby Hagan was the champion of the middle class? HE is hell bent against drilling into the Shal creating 200,000 jobs for the valley. Bobby "Buckwheat" Hagan has done nothing to help the valley, he is just living off the state dollar and spewing Liberal rhetoric. He is worthless. Name one job he has ever brought to the Valley

If Ted Strickland supported fracking do you think half of those protestors would be there? Probably not, John Kasich could support saving a baby kitten from a tree and you people would protest it. This area is about to see the biggest manufacturing boom in America since the mills left. The economy will flourish. Studies have shown that fracking does nothing to contaminate water supplies. I see no consequential risks involved with drilling. If you don't like natural gas then have your home run on wind power, disconnect your gas line and move on. There are 22 new found millionares in Columbiana County due to leasing their land. You know how much tax revenue that brought to the County? With the new jobs, crime will go down, poverty will go down, and our education system and social system will prosper...If you don't like the fracking get out

Shale jobs are estimated to reach 200,000 within the next 20 years in the "Rust Belt" with areas that have had stagnant unemployment Fracking and the Shale industry are a Godsend. Read today's Vindy article about those who were arrested disrupting business. None are from Youngstown, they were from West Virginia and other outside areas.

Hey FD, is that what you have to resort to
"Ryan: when you graduate, and get into the REAL WORLD, your views wont be as distorted as now, because you might have to get a job, bust your rump........., my college friend, your opinion will matter to me."
Sorry Cheif I worked 3 jobs during the summer and currently work two. I pay my way, my entire paycheck on friday went towards books.....I paid cash for my car and pay for all the repairs, gas insurance, etc. I bust my rump. Oh and besides those 2 jobs I will have during fall working 35 hours a week I am taking 8 classes (thats 23 semester hours) yeah so i guess you think I dont bust my "rump". Oh and besides that I work side jobs, I cut grass for neighbors and do leave cleanup. Oh and when winter comes, I clear driveways. All to pay my way through school and survive.
Thats the difference between my side and your side. No one on my side in the commenters personally tried to degrade Matthew, they came at the arguement with facts. Yet all of you think "Oh Ryan is a spoiled college student. However, it is quite the contrary. Oh and I also am active in several student organizations. So with school and everything on my plate I easily put in 60-70 hours of work( whether it be organization based, job based, or homework.) I am always working.
I think you owe me an apology, and next time dont judge someone until you know the entire story.....
Oh and I don't hate safety workers. Two of my good friends are firefighters. So tell me how I hate them??
EXACTLY Enough with the rhetoric and assumptions and quit trying to personally attack a college student. Frankly its pathetic and even more pathetic that I called you out on everything you tried to attack me on.
