Just curious. What if the county and city gave every employee $9k to stimulate the economy? How would that go over? GM took $6billion in taxpayer money and gave out bonuses. Bertrum, your thoughts?

Hey Ben Bernanke, it's called an incentive. Last time I checked I hadn't noticed any banks offering $2 mill loans at .25%. Its short term for start up costs. The City doesn't loose much interest because it's only for a year. They are guaranteed the money and make 2.75% on the income tax from construction jobs in that year.

James_S: Your comments are insane.
Stan: I completely agree with you crime must be cut. Do you have any suggestions? You have been very critical of Mayor Williams. Do you have any advise for Mayor Samarone?

No I do not want to erase the memory of them. I said nothing of the sort. In fact the only common thing between my quote and your misguided spin on it is the word "memory". I do have a problem of someone EXPLOITING the tragedy in order to try and discredit Mayor Williams. If he were standing right next to either of them he couldn't have stopped it. I am sure that Mayor Williams will be the first to admit that there are things that he would have done different and has unfinished business, but to focus on these two incedents is just wrong. I have actually seen Mayor Williams physically leave his office in order to break up a fight outside City Hall while YPD stood there and watched literally. So post all of the articles and pointless pictures you want. You never worked with Mayor Williams; you have no idea how hard he worked for the City. Those of us that did know what a leader we are losing.

Stan the Man,
Really?! You select these two stories as proof that Mayor Williams failed? The Mayor ended every year that he was in office with the City in the black. Making some very tough choices along the way that hit a lot of people hard. He was dealt a boondongle in the Coveli Centre. He could have kept the management company that McKelvey selected that was hemoraging money but instead made a tough but necessary decision to change management companies and it appears that it is moving in the right direction. Is it profitable? No. It wasnt built to make a profit. However it does provide a service to the public and has spurred development downtown. The previous administration should have built a centre that was within the original budget instead of borrowing the extra $13 million or whatever it was. Back to my original point. To use these two victims of random and senseless violance as an example is completely disrespecful to thier memory. How do you sleep at night?! Everyone that read your post is even more convinced now that you are an ignorant, cold hearted, fool. Shame on you and may God have mercy on your soul.

Yeah he's a crook! You people are retarded. Maybe the City is paying for it. So what? Maybe he is paying for it. Why don't you call his office and ask instead of posting pointless innuendos on this web site? Cantsilencetruth huh? Time to put your money where your mouth is. Dont forget to leave your name. Cant wait to hear the results.

taxpayer: Dont you know by now? Walter, truth, Stan the man, they annonomously throw out innuendos, lies and rhetoric because it's cool and they think that they will get a rise out of everyone. Please notice that not one of them provided any insight as to their opinion that Jay's performance as Mayor was sub par. People that actually knew Mayor Williams and worked with him know the truth. He worked hard for the City and did better then anyone can hope for. He will be missed by business owners and the like. He endoured some tough situations that would have buried others. They will be saying the same thing about Mayor Samarone in a couple of years. Nothing is good enough. government is evil, pork, pork, pork, and of course the ubiquitous "pigs at the trough" lol yaawwwwwnnnn...... it's played sooooo played move on.....teabagers
