I was there. Bob Hagan did nothing to provoke Dorian. I was in the way of Dorian's mother's view when the punch was thrown. No one came after Dorian. He might have been a good kid, but what good kid knocks out a 60 y/o man? The mother is a liar. She's trying to protect her son. Why did she take 4 days to talk to the detective? She had to make up a story.
I feel sorry for Dorian because he made a very bad decision. I feel more sorry for Mr. Hagan because he was assaulted and suffered substantial injuries.
It does not matter that he is an elected official; he was just a man at a bar with his family that night. He was in the bar for maybe 2 minutes when he got knocked to the floor.
I suggest Dorian and his family tell the truth and hope the prosecutor goes easy on him. I'm sure if he admits his wrong they can lessen the offense.
