@thethinker, I didn't realize people like you existed in Youngstown. Great response. Unfortunately, most valley residents fail to acknowledge the existence of market solutions, let alone embrace them.
If Valpo finishes first (they should) and Cleveland State and YSU finish in a two-way tie for second (YSU would need to win all of their final 3, and CSU would need to lose 2 of 4), YSU would win the head-to-head tiebreaker and get the #2 seed. The first tie-breaker would be their head-to-head matchups, which they split. The next is their record against the first place team, Valparaiso. YSU split with them and CSU lost twice. CSU's final 4 games are not easy: @Milwaukee, @Green Bay, Detroit, Wright State.
How did they clinch a share of the league? If they lose their last 2 games and Glen Oak wins theirs, Glen Oak will finish with 1 loss and Boardman with 2.
"Incomes of some citizens are now in the billions of dollars." Good for them. Simply wanting to get your hands on the fruit of another man's labor doesn't mean you are entitled to do so. It is pathetic and cowardly to support any mechanism that forcibly transfers anyone's wealth in your direction. You can attempt to justify it on moral grounds if you wish, but it's ultimately self-serving. Someone else is capable of something you aren't. You are resentful and envious (sin anyone?) and want to strike back. How very small of you.
You can always count on the concerned women of any neighborhood to objectively assess any decision like this with the well thought out conclusion of "it's dangerous...what about the children?" sure to follow. I think we should take anyone and anything that can in any way be considered at all dangerous to anyone and move it as far away from my child as possible,...not necessarily yours though. Mine is gifted, really.
Schools like Alabama, USC, and Florida State have actual broadcasters do their games, both praising and criticizing when appropriate. This isn't middle school or high school. These are adults! If you can take a hit from a 300 pound lineman you can take a criticism when you screw up.
I can understand these kids moms not liking the criticsm. That's natural. But if you are not a mother of one of the players and you think that Coach Hartzell is a big meanie then grow a pair or go watch Barney.
