This scam doesn't surprise me. I've received a scam call before from 503-278-8157 and the caller demanded I pay off a loan I supposedly took out about 2 years ago. I knew right away that the caller was bluffing. I hung and reported the scam call to the local authorities. I also showed them the complaints I pulled up at http://www.callercenter.com/503-278-8... where several people also posted complaints against the caller.
A scam indeed! I felt obligated to post because my mom got a call like that, too, and the scammer threatened her when she refused to wire money. But instead of being intimidated, she hung up and reported the call to http://www.callercenter.com to raise a warning. She also alerted the local authorities.
