Honestly I wasn’t going to comment here but some of what is written is just wrong. While I don’t wish Aimee back luck or anything I can’t imagine anyone thinking this was going to be easy and she probably should have listened to her father’s advice and not start at this location. Some of the way this story is written is absolutely crazy – “extensive renovations” , maybe there were extensive renovations done inside of the home but definitely not in the kennel and quite frankly that is where I would be putting my dogs if boarded so I really don’t care about renovations made inside the home. “2 car garages converted into a training room”? It was a training room for over 2 years. I could see stating extensive renovations if they put in a fire sprinkler system. “Overreact”? I don’t believe anyone is overreacting 7 dogs were killed here and 12 more starved, customers were coming and going but because of the way this is set-up no one could see into the kennel/yard area so they didn’t know anything was wrong or a dog owner would have called and alerted the authorities. Is this “new set-up” different than before? “New Laws in the works” well we’ve all heard that before, nothing ever changes, and let’s face facts our local authorities didn’t enforce the laws that are already on the books so we all know now how that works too. Croley took people’s money for a service, boarding and training and didn’t feed or care for the dogs. He killed other people’s dogs and yet he was never charged with any type of fraud charges? Where is the consumer protection here? Where is there any sort of protection for our family members? Do any laws bring your dead family member back to life? “Landlord in Virginia”? this is the same landlord that stated Croley was 6 months behind in rent and that didn’t raise a red flag problem to him? How would kennel customers know a business was 6 months behind in rent? Heck, I didn’t even know the previous guy didn’t own this place. Did this landlord ever check on this kennel and his property periodically? Obviously he didn’t, so how can a customer feel comfortable knowing that?

I’ve kenneled my dogs in the past but after what happened at High Caliber I would never kennel my dogs again. I would strongly recommend to anyone considering of boarding their dog to think twice and then think again of turning over a family member to any kennel.

Sick, sick, sick, another sicko in Youngstown. It's not even 4 months since the High Caliber K9 Steve Croley horrific case 7 died of starvation, 12 starved and here we go again. These poor animals, how can people do these things? I hope all the proper procedures were followed this time otherwise they will drop the charges again and another animal killer gets away with a slap on the wrist.

As I read some of the comments, I will admit how disappointed I am, how could anyone condone harming animals? or question why we need tougher laws and stiffer penalties. While I agree some monsters, no matter what the laws are, will commit crimes I honestly do feel that some people will think twice before abusing an animal if they know the punishment is serious.

I do believe Michael Vick will not set up another dog ring and I believe many will not follow his footsteps because of the punishment he received. I do wonder though what if this happened in Ohio - what sentence would Michael Vick have received? 4 months in jail like Steve Croley? I ask you to consider this when you state and believe new laws aren't necessary. Maybe this is why crime is so out of control because no examples are being set forth and weak plea deals are being made.

In this horrific Steve Croley case there was 1 mishap after another, the authorities should be ashamed of themselves as they allowed this man to get a slap on the wrist and exposed the weak Ohio animal laws for what they truly are - OUTDATED!

It's about time Ohio wake up. How many poor animals have to suffer and die before the 125 year old inadequate laws get changed? If the laws were changed last year, this man and other abusers wouldn't have received just a slap on the wrist.

The High Caliber K9 tragedy proves what the Coalition for Animals stated, Investigation handled by agents with no training, no search warrant and 12 charges of animal cruelty dropped. A joke plea deal and a short probation period.

Anyone that does these horrific things to animals clearly demonstrates their capability to hurt people as well. Regardless of age they should be psychologically evaluated and obtain counseling in every effort to protect society.

No animal should have to endure this and it's our job to protect them. We can't let the next animal abuser walk away with an inadequate punishment. The time for change is now.

ANIMAL ABUSER GETS 9 YEARS FOR ANIMAL CRUELTY IN ALABAMA

I’m so glad to see that Justice can be served for some animals. It looks like some Judge’s are waking up.
Dog Abusers you better watch out in Alabama!!!!!!!!

WAKE UP OHIO!!!!! Steve Croley killed 7 dogs, starved 12 dogs gets 4 months in jail. What a joke!

Unbelievable! An abuser was actually sentenced to a prison term that is much more in line with his crime than the usual slap on the wrist we normally see. Juan Daniels pleaded guilty to the horrific crime of beating and burning his mother’s pit bull all because he couldn’t use the family car.

Looks like this atrocity pissed off Circuit Judge Charles Price as much as it pissed off all of us because the good Judge sentenced this piece of trash to a 9 year 6 month prison sentence!! This was the longest sentence ever imposed by the state of Alabama for an animal cruelty case, only 6 months short of the max that could have been imposed.

“We are hoping this will send a message not only to Juan Dan¬iels but to anyone who would want to do this,” said Deputy District Attorney Scott Green.

And as if that news isn’t sweet enough, we’ve got some icing to add to the cake, Louis Vuitton, the pit bull that was so cruelly abused now officially has a new home and family!

Yes he certainly did get away with this. What a disgrace. Those poor animals and their owners. I do not understand why he is not facing any criminal charges for stealing these peoples money. Those in authority should all be ashamed of themselves because they are not doing their jobs and this man has made fools of them all. We rely on the law to keep us and our animals safe from a business like this, what a joke.

omg another sicko put him in the cell with Steve Croley the dog killer. they can compare sicko notes about animal abuse and Croley can fill him in on how to get away with murder.

The punishment doesn't fit the crime. What a disgrace! Put him in the cell with the other sicko that had sex with a lamb. Those photos of the poor dogs omg what they had to endure because of this Croley low-life.
