Poland Twp. police investigating thefts from cars

I'm sorry, you asked about the Mclurg rd biker and I didn't even mention him.

It's called McClurg Road and his name was Adam.

On the afternoon of Friday, October 12, 2007, six to eight hours before Adam was killed, there was an act of vandalism in the parking lot of a business located near Boardman Center. It was pretty obvious that this act of vandalism was revenge for an act of vandalism that happened nearly two decades earlier. The two acts of vandalism were nearly identical.

To the driver of the vehicle that struck Adam, it appeared that someone was sneaking across town in the middle of the night on his silver/blue/black Trek 1000 bicycle to get revenge for the vandalism that happened just hours earlier.

Poland Twp. police investigating thefts from cars

Two decades ago, I was responsible for getting David's brother Rodney terminated from his employment. He had been drinking on the job all day long and I didn't feel safe with him behind the wheel of the vehicle we were riding in. He refused to turn over the keys, so at the end of the day, I reported his consumption of alcohol to the boss. He was fired on the spot.

I sure hope he isn't the type of person to hold a grudge.

Onabeach...My bad. The Vindicator's Government Watch shows he was on the Poland Township PD payroll, but I really have no idea what he did for them.

Brad,

When you were breaking into cars on Rosehedge, did you take anything from the cars that belong to your girlfriend's grandparents? Mr and Mrs Palazzo may be upset if you did. You should get your butt over to Sexton and aplogize like crazy. Beg for forgiveness!

Arrested in thefts

The latest Poland Township police reports were published in the Poland Town Crier this week. On the same night Brad Wineburner was arrested for stealing from cars on Tamarisk, Paulin, Rosehedge, Sigle and Morningside by the Boardman Police, more than a dozen cars were broken into on the east side of the Poland Woods near North Lima Road. Streets he hit that same evening include Parkway, Clovermead, and Forrest Hill.

In addition to that, police reports show eight thefts from auto in Poland Township in the two days prior to him being arrested by the Boardman PD. Two of the thefts were on Weatheredwood Trail, one block from where he lives. Two thefts from auto were reported on Southwind Trail, just down the street from where he lives. In the other four thefts in Poland Township that were reported in the two days prior to his arrest, he must have been traveling to more distant neighborhoods in his car, just like he did on Sigle, Rosehedge, Tamarisk and Paulin.

Even though he just turned eighteen, I hope the felony charges that have been filed against him are not reduced to misdemenors. The judicial system needs to send a message that this behavior will not be tolerated.

Hopefully the two year long crime spree of similar thefts that has been taking place in Brad Wineburner's neighborhood near Spitler Road has come to an end.
