The comment that only the cops who are doing their job get complaints is stupid. My boyfriend is a cop (Cleveland) and has been for 16 years. He has, every year, been top ticket producer in his district and in all those years only had one complaint filed on him. He is always firm yet courteous to every person he comes in contact with, even when he has the racial thing thrown at him. I agree that we should not say this officer is guilty until IA completes the investigation, but I also can't help thinking that if this officer had tact, poise, and the proper demeanor as an upholder of the law he wouldn't have this number of complaints. But I also know from listening to my boyfriend that there are times he does want to get agressive with people who get mouthy or nasty to him when he is only doing the job he has sworn to do. We should all remember that they are the ones who put their lives on the line for us and it's not like they can say," I see you have a gun. Could you tell me what your intention is?" before they act. Get real! Why don't you try spending 2 hours in an officer's shoes and then tell me how you would react to a hostile situation.
