It's not a personal agenda, YBR, there are several residents who have been grumbling about the officer involved in this incident. This is just the latest in a line of questionable actions/techniques that caused Village residents to complain about this officer.
Well, I do apologize for not saying that the $360 million I mentioned was allocated soley to Planned Parenthood. I'm sure the actual dollar amount is, in fact several times higher for the services provided for by our government. The point I'm trying to make is that the government could keep throwing millions and billions of dollars at the programs you listed above, but ultimately it comes down to personal responsibility. If you honestly think that media campaigns, sex ed and teen pregnancy programs are going to make millions of teenagers look at themselves and say "Wow, how irresponsible of me, I'm only going to practice safe sex from now on", you're nuttier than I could have ever imagined. As far as subsidized birth control, people should be responsible enough on their own that if they can't afford birth control, maybe they shouldn't be having casual sex without protection.
First of all, with all due respect to Senator Turner, I don't recall hearing any men saying their Viagra should be subsidized by the United States government. The Federal Budget already allocates monies ($360 million/year as of 2009) in the form of government contracts and grants, so further subsidies allowed by Obamacare are basically a redundant and unnecessary expense with an already out-of-control federal debt. Frankly, I find it reprehensible that Mr. de Souza and most left-leaning media outlets are trying to spin fiscal responsibility into a "war on women".
