Every day I think of the happiness downtown brought. Everyone dressed up . Women wore their pearls and heels. Men wore ties. Stores were magnificent! Never any trouble either. No one carried a gun but the cop on the beat. It was a piece of heaven on earth. So was Idora. We'll never have anything like that again. The downtown area is nothing like it was. It's a place where frat brothers go to get drunk and walk up to the University and destroy property. So sad. Thank you though for the memories. Camelot has come and gone.

I grew up on the south side of Youngstown in the 60.s. It was crime free. I remember walking to Isalys, Garramones and many mom and pop stores. It was wonderful. Sp sad to see what has happened to it. Too many punks walking around while mom is out doing drugs and dad left a long time ago. This is what our society has turned into. Just awful.

I totally agree. God bless all who served. You are what America stands for.

Good riddance to yesterday's trash. They're all in bed with each other. After viewing the Above article I have to take a bath. The "D" stands for dirty AND democrat.

Great story! My great uncle used to work for Harry Burt. Let's put our history somewhere where it will be appreciated!

People around here don't want their 15 minutes of fame. They want to make a whole career out of it. And whatever money they can stuff into their pocket on our dime makes them an even bigger rat. See you and the rest of your city cohorts in jail Mike. Maybe Betras can bake you a cake with a saw in it!

Sorry Sciortino. Your hardcore Democrat voters lost. Maybe now Mahoning County can rid itself of the crooks and cronies so prevalent for decades. Only here can someone who is under indictment have the cunyats to run again. And only here do people continue to vote for them. Don't let the door....

I agree. I have held people in my arms who have had horrific deaths. Thank God there is now a way out! It's their right. God didn't give us the technology to keep people alive who are suffering and going to die anyway. Save them the excrutiating pain and family misery. This woman is now at peace. God rest her soul.

Hey Handyman - it's obvious you have issues with being a real man. Now go home, take your Viagra and calm down.

You're right pops. There's an awful lot of idiots out there. And haters. I took in a feral kitten a couple years ago and it slept with me on my neck every night. She was an inside cat but sniffed the night air one time and she was gone for 2 weeks. One night I opened my front door and she scooted in. She hid her little face in my arm half the night so excited to have found her way home. Cats know their way home. I had another one who walked 4 miles to get back to my home. Took her 3 weeks to find me. Don't give up on Sammi. She'll come home as long as no one has her which could be a possibility. There are a lot worse things these people could spend their money on. Let's get some compassion here people. Pets are family too.
