treb77 is correct about transfers. the following was copied right from the OHSAA web site under eligibility.

Tosee if you qualify for an exception, you and yourparents should arrange a meeting with your principalor athletic administrator.• If additional questions concerning these regulationsremain, school principals or athletic administratorsshould contact the OHSAA.OHSAA Regulations OnScholarshipOHSAA Regulations OnResidenceOHSAA Regulations OnTransfersOhio High School Athletic AssociationRegulations Overview

I would like to wish the irish luck friday night but i do hope they have a larger fan turn out than against us Generals on friday. It looked from our side, and granted the home side was bigger, but you only filled one section. Being from Youngstown, i thought there would be more people there, not just from the school but the entire community. Our county has 3 school districts in it and we had people from all 3 there supporting our boys. We were very luck this year to have 2 of our county teams make it to semi-finals and both schools had a tremendous following. We are very proud of our Generals and you should be proud of the Irish. they are a very talented team. the entire community should go out and support them. again Good luck friday in the finals.

I agree with noteworthy and here's my resaon: public schools, who play with the talent that is in the districts, can not compete with private schools who go out and recruit their kids just to play one sport. Our boys all play 2 or 3 sports. I am not putting down the irish. they have a very talented team. but when the school only allows a certain number of boys so they can stay in a certain league, that is just not right. i also heard that a lot of the kids at youngstown are on scholarship. to me on a high school level this is not right. if they want to continue this, they should split the between private and public. it is very boring watching the same schools get to state and win every year. i would much rather watch the public schools play and after seeing the fan following friday night, there are a lot of people who would agree with me. the irish were lucky to have a few more fans than players where as we GENERALS fans filled the stands and than some. I am starting a writing campaign to the OHSAA and not just "venting" on here. i do wish the irish luck next week as you should win the title again. i do hope that there is a lot more fan support for you.
