First (and I know somebody will say it) I'm not a bleeding heart liberal. Everybody deserves to have their chance at life. But, there seems to be so much unknown about this case. There is more to this story than meets the eye. Why have they waited 3 years? If this boy did act alone on this, it just reinforces the fact that our society is encouraging kids to become cold, heartless violent, "I'm gonna get what I want at all costs". killers. If he had issues, who handed this kid a gun? Or let him have access? Something doesn't jive
More than one source has come up with the premise that her "lawyer" is too cozy with her. Too tight of hugs and I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised that if Casey doesn't prove to be a lucrative "investment" he's gonna toss her to the curb like yesterdays news. She did it. Everybody with 1/2 a brain knows it. But looking at her, she's not firing on all 8 cylinders. Not too many people would be smiling knowing the world hates you and sooner(or later) your number is up.
what worries me most about this situation is where was this police officers brain???If his thought process can't get to the point that a dog in a car in the heat is a definite fail, what else can't he process??If I were a human partner given to this person, I'd have to think long and hard about serving the community with him.
I agree with redvert. To put it more in bluntly, Karma is as b*****. She didn't get convicted, but her carefree party life is over. People hate her. Doesn't matter if she's innocent. She took down her family, mixed them up in all the lies. Daddy did her wrong. Brother did her wrong. Everybody did her wrong..and who paid the ultimate price? She can live 70 years with this, the stares, comments and despise. Did she win?Doubt it.
Now, there's something to think on a while. The elected remain silent. Once in a while, they get all big and we hear "we're not going to tolerate this kind of thing". Really, that's their take on it? We as a nation elect officials who make all kinds of promises and we trust them to do something. That's gotten us far. Read the vindicator in the "years ago" history. Nothing is different in Youngstown, just the faces have changed. Used to be the mob, eliminating their rivals, crime was all over just the same.
Unfortunately, it's across the board. I realize it's "TV" but ever watch "First 48"? Somebody is shot to death, and nobody sees anything. It's fear, or loyalty or just plain oh well, nothing I can do...
I now live in Boardman, but before anyone goes "what do you know" I bought my first hoe on Y'town's south side. I said enough 10 years ago after 3 break-ins, and a dead man in the drive way next door from a car jacking. It's so sad this Mom has to bury a boy just starting life, but what's even more sad is the fact that the kids(and they are) that they are looking for are 17 and 15. FIFTEEN!!!What would get into a kid's head to want to kill. There have been many days we've all felt, wronged betrayed, beat on but to up and just blast somebody?Children of all races are desensitized to violence. Murder is glamorized and life is cheap.
The alternative is they take it out altogether and you have to get out of your car and walk. No matter where they put it, it's for convenience. How long does it take to drop mail and pull out....
